Great hotel on the campus.
Pros:

Fabulous breakfast, great location, comfortable rooms at a reasonable price.

Cons:

Room was very hot, no air con (to be fair it was a heatwave).

It did the job, at a cost.
Pros:

Location. Staff friendliness.

Cons:

Price was expensive for the quality of the room given. Room was incredibly hot (not a lot that could be done about that) - rooms were dated.

Would stay again!
Pros:

Location was great as we were attending an event at the university. We were grateful for the bar when we arrived after a long journey! Breakfast was good in the restaurant - decent value. All the staff were lovely and helpful.

Cons:

No air con in our first floor bedroom. The bedroom was well presented and well equipped but just too hot. We used the fan provided and had the window open but was still uncomfortable

Cons:

We requested for a late checkout by 30 minutes (from 10 am to 10:30 am) but were not supported by the front desk staff citing that the hotel is very busy. My request was not unreasonable, even in a busy period, and was rather surprised at the response from the staff.

Poor facilities and very average dining and staff.
Pros:

Location

Cons:

No aircon in the bedrooms. Made sleeping a nightmare. Would not stay here again. Aircon stopped working in the bar- “no staff available to fix it”. Bar closed at 11:00pm - despite being a private hotel, England world cup match on, and the bar full of customers. Food in Fifty restaurant was distinctly average. Breakfast Cooked early and left to-dry out under hot plates. Stale bread and reheated deserts for dinner. Staff were pleasant but not proactive when requested things.

Pros:

Hotel has upgraded since last visit and public spaces were much improved

Cons:

No airconditioning during the heat wave meant very poor sleep. For the price paid, you’d expect a decent night’s sleep

Location good, but not great value for the price charged
Pros:

Location was good - on campus for graduation

Cons:

I don’t think our room was properly cleaned, items left in mini fridge. NO AIR CON! This hotel was refurbished a few years ago, millions spent but not on this. Fan was provided was useless. Very flaffy check-in, then door key didn’t work, so had to walk back to reception. Staff not very helpful, reluctance to book taxi for elderly parent.

Not worth the stay or the money
Pros:

Location was good

Cons:

Overpriced and completely run down. I had a premium room which had broken shower facilities, dirty walls and floor, dusty and the rooms were boiling with no way to cool down. Do not recommend

Give it a miss - overpriced and lacking in air con
Pros:

Over priced and definitely not a 4 star experience. Would have expected water in the room and a biscuit at least on the refreshment tray. Room small more like Premier Inn not 4 star. No lift to 1st floor. No air con in this dreadful heat. Only a noisy fan through the night which just moved the hot air around. At least Premier Inn has air on and is half the price. Would not recommend. Food was good, its only redeeming feature although when we requested a table for 8 people they said we would have to order for 4 people at a time ???? Find somewhere else to stay in Loughborough.
