This motel reaffirms the goodness of others!

My friend and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Windsor Locks, CT on Feb 19, 2026 because we had a 6am flight the next day. We’ve stayed before and really like how comfortable and clean it is, so close to Bradley, and you can leave your car there. They also were able to bring us to the airport at 4am.
Anyway, after we went through TSA my friend discovered that she didn’t have her purse with her phone, money, and credit cards. Needless to say, we were overwhelmed and ended up taking our flight anyway.
My friend had to cancel her cards once we arrived and was pretty upset. Then I got a call. It turned out to be Myra B from the motel. Apparently my friend had left her bag in her room. I asked Myra to hold it for us and then we’d come to the desk when we came to pick up the car. She assured us it would be safe.
We came back today after 2 weeks. There was Myra at the desk and her colleague brought the purse out to my friend. The phone, her money, and the now cancelled credit cards were all there. What a relief!
This could all have been a nightmare. The housekeeping person found it and immediately turned it in to the front desk. Myra had to figure out that I was with the person that lost her purse (we had 2 separate rooms), she called me and kept everything safe. When my friend tried to give her money as a reward, she and her colleague refused and just asked us to review the motel. It was the least I could do!

Beds were comfortable

Cons:

Woke up cold turned the heat on and it smelled like something was burning so I then turned it off and unplugged it. Found that the outlet was burnt, I had two rooms and was told to use the other one more, but I had children sleeping as I brought my own blankets too. They did nothing to fix the issue! I will not stay there again

The breakfast was cold..the egg omelette and the sausage

Cons:

Hot food...around 2 am, there was a clanking that woke me up. It was the heater and it was clanging like someone was hitting a pipe against it. It was very loud, and I tried to stop it. I turned off the system and then turned it back on and it stopped, but then I had trouble falling asleep again. Also, there was not a toilet paper holder in the room. The rolls were just sitting on the floor. And, lastly, at 10 pm, there wasn't any parking available. The front desk agent offered to move his car though so I could have a spot.

Really good!
Pros:

Great place - a typical hotel obviously but very clean and the staff was great. The room was bigger than expected and had a kitchenette with full size fridge. The breakfast was impressive in regards to hotel breakfasts. We were very happy overall!
