Great location but would never stay there again.

The pool.

Cons:

The bathroom door was molded and had exposed metal that could easily slice your toe open. The beds were uncomfortable. No Kleenex in the room. The pool bar served warm beer. The bar was dirty.

Perfect for a weeklong conference
Pros:

I was there for a conference that hosted 1500 people! Not everyone stayed there, obviously, but the hotel did an excellent job accommodating such a large group with meeting space needs. Staff very nice and helpful. It's a beautiful property and the food in the restaurant is good and staff hospitable. Our buffet breakfasts were very nice. Location excellent; a quick Uber ride to major sites and rooms quiet. Walking distance to many restaurants, shops, park. The only downside is that the rooms felt dingy and dark. They were clean and mattress comfortable - I like a firm mattress. We didn't spend much time in our rooms, but they were a little depressing. However, the price was right. Perfect place for our conference!

Real de Minas not a real minus
Pros:

For context, we did not stay overnight, but we did use some of their services. We used their ATM to get more pesos, and we used it twice. It was a lifesaver. They also have an activities kiosk that we used to check on possible things to do. We were interested in a balloon ride, but it required a concierge and there was not one present at the time. This hotel is conveniently located. They offer dining and a sundries store downstairs and valet parking. The staff members we engaged with were competent. We were charged a fee to use to the ATM, but we appreciated it being there.
