Overall great spot overlooking the beach. Well appointed rooms - we had a rooftop balcony. For the location the hotel was a good price (off season rates). It was very quiet and nice to hear the waves crashing on shore. Service was good in all parts of the hotel. Thank you.

5 family/friends travelled to celebrate my friends 70th birthday & hotel was just perfect, didn’t disappoint! We had 2 rooms 215&216 which were perfect. Had interconnecting rooms which was a bonus. The rooms were spacious, modern and very clean. Bathroom was lovely, powerful shower & plenty toiletries. All rooms at hotel had sea view which was beautiful. We were b&b and the breakfast was really nice we all enjoyed, there was fruit juices, tea, coffee, pastries, cereals, fruit, cold meat cheeses, and warm buffet sausage eggs etc.
Lovely bar area with a small terrace where can watch sun set, quiet in bar & man playing piano. All staff were pleasant & courteous. The location of hotel is perfect, get lift to 0 and come out on beach. There’s a restaurant/bar on ground floor very reasonable priced. Come out of hotel go through small tunnel and your on street with all shops bars restaurants, and only few minutes walk to livelier bars with live music etc. There was a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine in room for my friends 70th birthday, which was a nice touch. Rooms were €100 deposit per room against breakages, this was refunded to card straight away on check out. Everything about our stay was perfect, we can’t wait to return.

First the positives. The hotel is in a fabulous beachfront location, perfect for exploring Albufeira from the old town.
It's very clean. The breakfast was nice.

Negatives. When we arrived we discovered that our room was directly above the outside bar which was very noisy. We spoke to the lady on reception and requested a different room and were fobbed off with 'we're fully booked' which was not true, as confirmed later by another member of staff. In fact, the hotel was less than half full (beginning of March). The bar does close at 6pm but if you're wanting to relax on your balcony during the day be aware that the whole left hand side of the hotel overlooks this bar. The bar staff set up quite early in the morning, dragging tablets and chairs around. It's generally very noisy.

The whole hotel, including rooms, have hard flooring which is fine but once again, very noisy. We we're woken several times by people walking around in the room above ours in the early hours. There are very few soft furnishings generally meaning the whole hotel is very echoey.

The beds are very hard and uncomfortable.

We wouldn't stay here again.

Another excellent stay. The staff are all very professional and helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. The choice of food for breakfast and dinner was brilliant, and the food was delicious. The rooms are very well kept and have an amazing sea view. It was my husband's birthday while we were there and when we returned to the room that day there was a bottle of bubbly for his birthday, which was a lovely touch. Would definitely recommend this hotel for it's location, cleanliness, food and attentive staff. Thank you.

Do not eat the dinner buffet! Horrible dry chicken. The rice was dry and crunchy. The shrimp tasted like it was bad. I didn’t eat it after the first bite. Such a rip off! Hoping breakfast is better.

We have just returned from a 9 night stay at the Hotel Sol e Mar on a half board basis and we found our stay so relaxing due to the atmosphere, location and the super friendly helpful staff. On arrival we were met and checked in by one of the very helpful and friendly Reception staff. All the bedrooms have a fantastic sea view which is beautiful and spotless clean and are freshened with clean towels every day and bed sheets changed every couple of days. The breakfast and dinner are excellent with a very large selection of food to suit every taste. The Rainbow Bar is open every evening with music and a Dance Show on Sunday evenings. There is a fabulous balcony and view of the beach off the bar. There is a lovely relaxing atmosphere in the bar in the evenings after dinner and the bar staff are so friendly and welcoming. We have been staying at Hotel Sol e Mar twice every year for many years now and we can’t wait to return again in October

Loved the location and the ocean view of the hotel. Breakfast and dinner were good but not great. In addition, we were able to walk 10 minutes to the Flixbus to go back to Lisbon.

From checking in to checking out the traveller experience was great. Very friendly staff greeted us. Our room (410) was very comfortable and had a great sea view. The food was very good - apart possibly from the Christmas Gala dinner which was served over 2 hours and not really my taste. Breakfasts cannot be faulted - plenty of choice of food - as were the 2 other dinners we had.

We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary at the Hotel Sol e Mar and couldn't have asked for a more perfect stay. The sea - veiw room was stunning the staff were warm and welcoming. With the location - right on the beach and close to the old town - was unbeatable. Everything was spotless, relaxing, and beautifully presented. A truly memorable place to celebrate such a memorable milestone . I did order a bottle of bubble and chocolates before arriving but sadly they got lost in translation. Highly recommend this adult only hotel

Good hotel with great view. Very good food great atmosphere and very good and pleasant service and live music every evening.

First class location with beach frontage. Access to local restaurants was five minutes at most. Staff very professional and attentive. Room with balcony of high standard. We had our evening meals in town but breakfast in the hotel was a treat. We were well served in the evenings when we used the hotel bar.

We're so happy we've stayed in this hote.All the rooms overlook the beach.It's located within the Old City of Albugeria so it's very convenient if you're looking for things to buy & where to eat.The room is spacious,clean & cozy.Having a beach within your sight and within your reach is relaxing & refreshing.The breakfast is so good.So many choices for breakfast plus you get to see the beach while eating.The staff are nice,good & friendly.I will stay in this hotel again if I ever go back.

Just come back from this lovely hotel set right on the beach, the views are amazing. The rooms are lovely with a really nice balcony, lovely bathroom with large hot shower, fridge a large TV, the restaurant was really nice and we thought the food was really nice something different every night which we really enjoyed, the bar area had a pianist on in the evening which was nice and chilled, and the staff throughout the hotel were always friendly and helpfu
Great location for restaurants and bars too!!

Just got back from a long weekend at the hotel.
From arrival onwards it was excellent, it is situated right on the beach, incredible views from the room, all of which have balconies and face the sea.
The rooms are very modern and well presented, the large smart tv had so many channels,the hotel is upside down in that the reception the breakfast and evening meals were in the restaurant on the 5th floor with the rooms on the floors below.
Lunch is at the restaurant on the ground floor.
The food was lovely, all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.

Excellent location, very nice rooms, good breakfast. The hotel has amazing location with almost privare beach and still walkable from down town. Excellent stay in the city.

Wow what a lovely stay we had here!
The hotel is amazing! Each room has a sea view a balcony with furniture.
The rooms are really spacious and spotlessly clean. On arrival you are checked in and shown around.
The bar/ lounge area are lovely with a lovely balcony area to see the sunset from. The buffet breakfast was amazing. The cocktails are something else thank you Luis! There a lift down to the beach which is so convenient.
The thing I loved most about the hotel was the staff!! Everyone was so lovely but especially the lady who cleaned our room. I am not sure of her name but she is a tiny little thing who as always smiling I know her days off are 29th and 30th October as I mentioned my last day and she wished my a safe journey home.
I can’t recommend this place enough it’s amazing!!
