This sprawling hotel is an artistic refuge in downtown SMA. A former colonial monastery the property is a labyrinth of passageways, stairs and arches with bright colors, flowers everywhere, and museum quality ceramics and other crafts at every turn. The staff is attentive, the rooms are large and comfortable, and the Mexican breakfast in the courtyard is transcendent. Check out the murals in the bar! A word of caution to travellers with mobility/vision challenges: ask for a room in the front so there are fewer stairways to navigate.

I’ve notice that hotels provide less desirable rooms to customers who book through Expedia, that been said I didn’t expect this hotel to do this as the hotel seemed pretty empty my daughters and I didn’t see any other occupants yet they gave us the room in the farthest corner of their property. We had to go up and down multiple stairs to get to our room. Water pressure was horrible. Bed was so firm it felt like sleeping on on the floor. I wouldn’t recommend

The hotel was in a wonderful location-close to shopping and dining. We loved our room with a terrace.Has all the ambiance of San Miquel. The staff was very accomodating .We would absolutely stay there on our next visit.
