Hotel Lido degli Spagnoli

Don't expect The Ritz - this hotel is a little old fashioned in its decoration (mid-90s?) and the rooms are more basic than you might expect for 4* with smallish bathroom with shower perhaps not suitable for the larger person or someone with mobility issues. However the sea view rooms look out onto the swimming pool and Mediterranean, the pool itself is what you are paying for in my opinion (for around €130 a night its a bargain) and the rooms are kept spotlessly clean, as is the rest of the hotel. You do need your own pool/beach towel or else must pay to hire one. And if you like fancy soaps in the bathroom bring your own. Breakfast has a selection of fruits, cereals, and cooked fare and is very good. Staff in all areas of the hotel are very attentive and better than almost any other 4* that I've stayed at. There's also plenty of free parking. Matteo is the manager with a good command of English.

The hotel is situated on the cliff tops over looking the Mediterranean about 15 minutes walk to the centre of Portoscuso, which is a lovely town with many bars and restaurants. This is genuine Italy, as opposed to a tourist trap. Enjoy.

This "hotel" charged me €2 for milk to make a cup of tea with. The room had a kettle, sugar, stirrer, paper cups. No tea or coffee. I had tea bags with me but asked for proper cups and milk. This was given with very poor grace. And I was charged €2- "we have to buy the milk". Terrible service

Hotel staff were excellent, friendly and very helpful. Clean and tidy Hotel with good facilities. Our suite had an amazing view out to sea would definitely stay again. Parking was within the grounds so easy and Hotel location was also within walking distance of the town.

Misleading information on the hotel website - no Wellness Centre & Spa, no restaurant or bar in the evening and certainly not a 4 star hotel. However, it is in a beautiful location, as a nice pool and friendly staff. It's a pity the hotel is not honest about its facilities.

Brillant start and restful couple of days for our road trip around Sardinia.

The hotel was lovely - super-clean, with unmistakeable Mediterranean vibe. Breakfast excellent, good quality and lots of choice. The pool area was very clean and pleasant, too, and it is only a 3-min walk to the beach so it was perfectly possible to lie down by the pool an occasionally walk down for a dip in the sea.
What surprised us was that the restaurant only opened for light dishes at lunchtime, no bar, no dinner , however the receptionist talked us through the map to point out the nearest options. The area is generally very quiet during the day, even in the town centre we only found a couple of cafes open in the afternoon. Portoscuso doesn't seem popular with foreign visitors - but the beach was full of Italians, the staff at shops and restaurants didn't speak much English but were warm and welcoming, we always figured it out somehow. We absolutely loved the authenticity of the whole experience.

Our stay at this hotel and spa was perfect. The location is gorgeous, walking distance to the beach and the center of town. The service was great! It was peaceful, clean and quiet. Perfect for our family because we were looking for the place with less tourists and very local Italian. The day trip to Carloforte was so fun!

Vi hadde et famlierom med nydelig utsikt. Resturanten på hotellet var ikke åpent, veldig skuffende! Baren på hotellet var kun oppe til kl 20 hver kveld.

There were many things we enjoyed about this hotel. Among them: Beautiful views from our rooms and the pool deck, very warm and professional staff, an extensive breakfast selection that was very fresh and delicious, a beautiful, clean and warm swimming pool, and importantly, our rooms, bathrooms, and all the public areas of the hotel itself were extremely clean.

It is evident that the staff take a lot of pride in providing excellent service. I very highly recommend Hotel Lido degli Spagnoli if you are traveling in Sardinia.

Bra läge. Nära stranden, nära fina klippbad och en lagom promenad (15 min) från staden och restauranger. Fantastisk utsikt!

Jättefint och lugnt poolområde. Helt okej frukost. Trevlig personal. Ska tillägga att vi var näst intill ensamma på hotellet den här veckan. Dagen för avresa var det lite mer folk och det märktes både vid frukosten (som snabbt blev lite urplockad) och vid poolområdet (som inte var riktigt lika lugnt).

Très beau hôtel ,très bien situé à l’écart du village donc au calme.
Personnels très accueillant et serviable
Propre et nous avons eu la chance d’être surclassé et le prix est très abordable avec un petit déjeuner très fourni

I have stayed here always when I visit Sardinia. It is a great hotel located right next to the beach and has a spa and pool and a very friendly staff who go out of their way to help. For me there is no better place to stay. you can access many sightseeing places from here. I would recommend this hotel highly to anyone who wants to experience the beautiful place that Portoscuso is!

Très bel endroit près de la plage, grande suite pour 3 personnes au calme et vue mer. Belle piscine. Pas de restauration durant notre séjour, c’est dommage, bon petit déjeuner. Bon accueil. Je recommande.

Nicely situated on top of a hill overlooking the ocean so very nice view. But the bed and room were both a bit old.

Hotel bom, atendimento excelente e café da manhã muito bom. As instalações do quarto são antigas e precisam de alguns cuidados: o cobertor do quarto não é confortável, faltam travesseiros (tínhamos somente 02 travesseiros para duas pessoas). Pelo preço, eu esperava mais. Mas no geral é um bom hotel

Perfekte Lage mit herrlichem Ausblick. Wlan ist leider katastrophal im Hotelzimmer. Verbesserungsbeduerftig. Nur italienische Fernsehprogramme.
