Memory of Conrad Shanghai

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Conrad Shanghai! The facilities are top-notch, well-maintained, and incredibly convenient for enjoying the city. One of the absolute highlights of our stay was the breakfast—it was incredibly delicious, luxurious, and offered a fantastic variety of high-quality options that left us fully satisfied every morning.

Furthermore, all the staff members were exceptionally polite and attentive. I want to leave a special compliment for Rosemary. She always welcomed us with a warm, bright smile at the lobby every time we walked in. Her cheerful greetings truly made my day and made our stay extra special. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Shanghai!

Based on my experience, I cannot rate the hotel higher than four stars, despite its five-star classification. Its standout feature is its excellent location, but the service level falls short of that rating.
Upon arrival, there was no assistance with luggage, and the check-in process was not smooth; one of the rooms wasn't ready, and we were asked to check on its status ourselves rather than being notified when it was prepared. Furthermore, the lobby does not reflect the standard of a luxury hotel in terms of design or organization; the smell of food and restaurant supply carts constantly passing through the reception area negatively impacted the overall impression.
The rooms are spacious, but the bed was uncomfortable, and the showerhead and hairdryer were in need of maintenance or replacement. We also requested an extra bed, which I suspect may have been infested with bedbugs, as the person who slept in it woke up with numerous bites; I strongly advise the hotel to investigate this.
Room service was also substandard; on one occasion, the sheets were not changed, and when we contacted staff, they brought new linens but asked us to change the bed ourselves—and one of the sheets was torn.
Despite these issues, I would like to thank David from the concierge team; he was extremely helpful and provided excellent service throughout our stay.
Overall, while the hotel boasts a great location, the level of service and attention to detail does not align with a five-star rating.

A wholesome 9/10 experience !

The premise is opulent and semi - grand, and we were impressed with the staff and their attention to detail!
Daisy at check in was professional and offered a complimentary upgrade which was delightfully welcome !

A big shout out to FREYA and PRAVEEN — at the breakfast counter for going the extra mile to cater to my daughter’s food allergies !

Exceptional Customer Service from Rosemary
Pros:

I like the hotel. It’s close to everything and very easy to hang out. Staff are exceptional, especially Rosemary in the lobby. She is good at speaking different languages. I watched her seamlessly switching between English French, Korean and Chinese to help customers get to their destination and answering questions. And she knows how to deal with kids. Will be back again.
