Great hotel , great staff and great location definitely would go back xx

The room was dirty: room floor not swept, under bed dirty, sticky floor, sticky teatray, sticky shower, toothpaste on bathroom walls and door, crumbs in drawer under teatray, showerroom floor had dustballs in corners, drawer in showerroom sticky. Toilet seat was wrong size so had to sit partly on ceramic. NO HOT WATER in the morning. Incredibly bright lights above the bed but dimmer to that was broken. Other switches not working. Window to the view (for which you pay more) was absolutely filthy. Stairs up to hotel are varying heights and with parket-floor type pattern which were rising up creating trip hazards. There was a lip of about an inch heigh at the top which was a trip hazard. Rubbish bags at the front, i could go on...

Overall it was a great stay over New Years Eve and was everything we needed it to be. Value for money was good given the
Pros:

Great location in middle of town with seafront views and everything worth doing in Oban within short walking distance. Confusing parking, very little on site, however public car park directly across street made it very easy (though had to pay for this).
Dining room area is fantastic with great views out over the sea. Breakfast was good, full Scottish Breakfast as well as continental options available, as much as you like. Staff friendly and attentive.

Cons:

Que to check-in, the staff were friendly, polite and attentive though were clearly understaffed and rushed off their feet at times with reception staff juggling manning the bar and the reception desk at times.
The room was clean though clearly needs a bit of a revamp. Gaps in the wooden floor tiles catching your skin as you walk over them and bathroom fittings poorly installed/ maintained. All seemed a bit worn.
The wait for the lift to get up and down from the higher floors was excruciating at times especially as we were on the top floor and at meal/ check out rush hour this took a long time with stairs not really being an option with suitcases in tow.

Great Hotel to stay.

Loved the comfortable room, Great facilities,
Right in the heart of Oban, sonar all shops and ferry.

Cons:

Didn't like the tv, although one of the staff returned it pixelated again. Quite a nuisance in the early dark nights. Really wasnt happy with the fried breakfast overcooked egg, mushroom cold and half Cooked. The scrambled egg tasted like powdered egg not nice at all. So we stuck to continental.
