Unfortunately one of our nights was disappointing due to stamping around from the room above ours from 10pm until 1.30am. Despite contacting reception twice, nothing changed. We stayed in room 110 which was nice
We have just returned from two lovely nights in Hotel Wolne Miasto
The hotel is very well located, a 15-minute walk from the railway station and a two-minute walk to the old town and the Christmas Market
It’s situated in a historic tenement house, and has been very nicely converted. The bedroom was quite large, nicely furnished with a comfortable bed. The bathroom had a bath and again was very modern
There was good Wi-Fi in the bedroom
The breakfast was good with a large selection of hot and cold items
We got a very good rate and would certainly stay here again should we ever visit Gdansk again
Quite simply a lovely Hotel. Outside is not very imposing but inside is. The rooms are all extremely well presented, superb bed, immaculate bathroom with oodles of hot water. A lift. The breakfast is delicious with a hot and cold selection of lovingly presented and delicious food. The staff are super friendly and so helpful. I honestly cannot fault this hotel and I am fussy. A great location for the railway atation and the city centre. Easy walking to most of the key tourist sites. Bolt and Uber taxis are so cheap and arrive almost instantly. I shall return
The photos posted look beautiful and well-selected, but unfortunately, the actual accommodation is quite uncomfortable. After checking in at the main lobby, I had to drag my heavy luggage outside and walk to reach the next unit for entry. I wouldn't' stay this hotel never again however, staffs are kind
It was a pleasure to stay at this hotel. The staff was great and the accommodations were wonderful. O
The room was just great, the location was very convenient too. Unfortunately the room was on a street that was quite noisy, that affected our sleep every night we stayed there. Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay there, the place has a wonderful atmosphere, and having a refrigerator in the room is a real plus.
Located in the old town on the edge, walkable to all the best sites to see and also to the train station.
Beautiful, clean hotel located an easy walk between the main train station and old town; quiet, spacious, air-conditioned room; staff was very friendly and helpful; would definitely stay here again!
Great hotel in Gdansk and close to everything in Old City and also very near the main train station. Would stay again.
Stayed for 3 nights 12-15 May in a Mansard room at the top of the building (lift to 3rd floor). The room was very spacious, more so than the usual rooms we have stayed in. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay the hotel and would definitely recommend. The hotel is situated on the edge of the old town and everything is easily walkable (even with my hip problem).
We arrived around 9pm, the check in was speedy so we were ready for a bedtime drink in no time. We asked the chap on reception where he could recommend for a drink but he was most unhelpful, saying he didn't recommend places. That was our only negative, everyone else were great. We wandered off to the right of the hotel and found a nice, if unusual, place called Winston's, I think it was on Long Lane. We later discovered that if you went straight ahead from the main hotel door (less than 100 yards) there was a bar that sold beer for 10 zloty (£2), and if from there, you went right there was a nice bar call Grass, where we later spent most of our time as they did food and sold Guinness!
Breakfast was decent, without being outstanding, with a wide selection to choose from and the staff very attentive. The coffee, for me, was very strong so I ended up using half coffee/half water to make it more palatable for my taste.
On our second day we took a boat trip to Westerplasse (or similar name), which we enjoyed as it travelled through the busy docklands, although I would recommend the normal boat trip rather than on the boats that look like galleons, as they seen to get busy with school outings.
Would we go back to Gdansk? Probably not, but mainly because we like trying different places. But I would recommend Hotel Wolne.
Nice area, clean,helpful stuff
Lovely quiet vintage hotel on edge of old town. Easy walk to everything. Asked for change of room to single beds as the doubles quite springy! No problem to change. Very clean. Enjoyed our stay.
A very nice, vintage hotel. Great location close to old town. Walkable. Not too far from the train station. Friendly staff, clean, had a bathtub. Comfortable.
Really impressed with this old school style hotel in a beautiful period building. It's right on the edge of the old town so less noisy at night than the town centre hotels and yet still really accessible. Room was clean very comfortable and large serviced daily. They also accommodated my request for a bath in the bathroom - always a plus! Staff were friendly and very helpful. The checkin desk is manned 24hrs a day. We will defo stay here again
The hotel was okay—nothing exceptional but nothing terrible either. The room was clean, though a bit outdated, and the bed was reasonably comfortable. The staff was polite but not particularly attentive. Overall, it served its purpose for a short stay, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to book it again.
We stayed here for 4 nights, it was central to everything, staff were lovely couldn’t do enough for us … had everything you needed. Breakfast was really nice, such a great selection and freshly made, always checking you had enough
Gregg really looked after us, was a genuinely lovely guy and offered plenty of advice on the city. Would def recommend this hotel … had everything you needed for a city break. Safe, hairdryer tea/coffee, iron toiletries and spotlessly clean in great location
If I had to pick a fault, 1 wall on our room could do with being redecorated but hey that doesn’t knock this hotel in our eyes at all .. hopefully will get back to this beautiful city and stay here again!
Nice and cozy place!
I stayed at the Wolne Miasto Hotel for 4 nights during the Christmas market. It was absolutely perfect!! We were 6 people in the party, which included a 3-year old and several pensioners. We were all very happy with the hotel. The breakfast was so good! The personnel was wonderful, extremely helpful and friendly. My room was quiet and very comfortable. The location was so convenient to the market as well as to the Old Town. I highly recommend it!
Booked this place through Hotels.Com as a little Christmas Market trip with my husband. Perfectly placed for the Christmas Market as it literally starts rounds the corner. Room was cleaned every day, beds were comfortable, and the shower was amazing. We arrived at 1pm and although Check in is not till 2pm our room was ready. This is the ideal base for everything and Gdansk is very easy to navigate. The one thing I will say is don’t do a Saturday night unless you’re a big fan of the Backstreet Boys. I’m assuming there was a club over the road and at 4:50am we were woken up to some burly Polish men singing “I want it that way”. Was a shock but quite amusing. Also if you are visiting the Christmas Market Saturday was heaving and you couldn’t really move. Sunday onwards was much better. If you want a cheap comfortable hotel then you can’t go wrong with this place. Our flight was late on our last day, but we were still able to leave our luggage at the hotel till later in the evening.
We had a lovely 4 day stay in Wolne Miasto hotel in beautiful Gdansk. The room was very clean & comfortable. Location of the hotel was super. Didn’t try the breakfast so can’t comment on that. Would be very happy to recommend it to others
