Nice location, very stylish restaurant, good food and vines, Luxury Twin room was excellent choice, large room and nice decoration. We asked for a quiet room, what we got was a room on the courtyard side, above hotel bar. There were only a few people but music was extremely loud so we couldn't sleep until the music ended about 2.30.. Air condition was noisy too, we had to put it off. Also it wasn't easy to order separate breakfast for two people. Restaurant I can recommend, hotel stay not that much even the
room was nice.
Great size bedroom and amazing service.
Nightclub noise throughout the night, very poor shower and cold bathroom.
Great staff, nothing is too much.
Love the place
Nothing
Staff were amazing and really made our stay special
The staff were very helpful and friendly. Everything was well presented and provided when asked for. The room was quiet and very comfortable. Definitely recommended.
Dinner menu could be more varied and quality improved. Breakfast was lovely and service was great but took a bit too long to serve, so having a buffet breakfast could help improve things further.
Comfortable and fun
Nothing to dislike

Just returned from a perfect winter break and can highly recommend the TigerLily Hotel which is situated on George Street 10-15 mins walk from Waverley Train Station. George Street has individual shops, cafes and restaurants. The shopping centre is a 10 - 15 min walk away with the food court on the top floor and other tourist attractions nearby. We stayed in the Mini Georgian Suite Room 25 on the 3rd floor accessed by a lift or stairs which was spacious and nicely decorated. Facilities included a large bed, TV, fire and settee, Nespresso coffee machine plus handy GHD straighteners and hairdryer. The large bathroom included a shower over the bath. No magnifying mirror but great lighting. The hotel is very elegant with various vibrant colour schemes throughout the hotel. Decorated to a high standard with a variety of gorgeous lighting. All staff were extremely pleasant and helpful plus we were able to leave our luggage prior to check in and before departure. Different seating areas in the restaurant and we experienced the Winter menu giving you a choice of one, two or 3 courses on our 2 night break. This was excellent value for money and the food was top class. The TigerLily was a very good choice for a short break in the beautiful city of Edinburgh and we look forward to returning.
Lovely welcome at reception, lovely room, average food, poor service in the restaurant.
I booked Tigerlily through Booking.com as it was cheaper than booking directly with the hotel. Before arriving, I phoned to confirm the booking and spoke with Meghan, who was absolutely excellent. She upgraded both of our rooms as it was a special birthday, took detailed notes of allergies for both guests, and arranged cocktail vouchers as a birthday treat. On arrival, we were delighted — we were given the Georgian Suite, and both rooms had been beautifully decorated with balloons, including the four-poster bed. A really thoughtful touch.
We spent the day out in Edinburgh and I was very much looking forward to a relaxing bath. Unfortunately, the water in the Georgian Suite was stone cold. We contacted reception and were offered a room move, but we loved the room and chose to stay. We were told it was an airlock issue and advised to run all the taps, but the water still did not heat up. We were eventually offered another room to use for bathing. The hot water did come through around 11pm, but by the following morning the issue returned.
When I spoke to Meghan about this, maintenance were sent to look at it, however the explanation kept returning to it being an airlock and I didn’t feel fully listened to when trying to explain the wider issue. Meghan is genuinely an excellent member of staff, but I feel the situation could have been handled better with clearer communication.
I would think twice before booking the Georgian Suite specifically, as during our stay the hot water was unreliable, the television in the seating area did not work, the gas fire was not operational, and the safe was also not working. In contrast, the Mini Georgian Suite is beautiful — the other couple we were travelling with had hot water and everything fully operational.
We had pre-booked dinner for both nights to avoid travelling and had provided full allergy information in advance. Unfortunately, there were no suitable starters or desserts I could eat, and the menu is very limited for anyone with allergies or for vegans. I ended up having chicken and chips one night (I am not vegan), and we chose to eat elsewhere the second night so I could have a full meal. I did bring my own suitable bread, which the staff kindly toasted, but there was no vegan butter available as I cannot have dairy.
Overall, we did have a comfortable stay and the hotel itself is stunning inside, with beautiful rooms and lovely atmosphere. However, due to the lack of reliable hot water and the limited food options for allergies, I felt a 3-star review was fair.
Only negative and it wasn’t the hotels fault was that there was a disruptive resident late at night outside our room , arguing , screaming , kicking doors down right next to our room , so much so that our room was shaking with it , kept us awake for ages and couldn’t get back to sleep
Excellant staff, comfortable accommodation in a good locaation. Enjoyed nice meal in good suroundings with friendly staff.
Air conditioning a bit noisy in our room.
