The Initial room we were offered was not to our liking so the Housekeeping Manager showed a quieter large ground floor room as he was working that way in a quieter area of the hotel which was perfect which also had a separate rear access to the carpark. Bed was comfortable, we stayed for brunch in the morning which was spot on as was the staff.
Lovely room, comfortable bed, nice bathroom
It's like a maze finding your room, which is a pain when you've got luggage!
Hallways/rooms also very warm.
A very comfortable well appointed room with a bath. Are very busy bar area which the locals use
Excellent value for money
Nothing
Great location with parking
Booked 2 rooms for 2 nights .
1st room wasn’t set up bed made and clean but only 1 set of towels . Condiments not full . On the second night no one attended the room in the day - not expectable seeing as the room was £120 a night
Hotel is a ‘bit tired’ but likely to be the best option in Stevenage Old Town. Clearly popular though with very regular wedding receptions. The staff are all very obliging, the cooked breakfast options only average with continental sections ok and what you expect these days. Disappointed with the size of the room, size of bed and comfort of mattress as we went for the higher option, not ‘pristine’ by any stretch of the imagination, like the hotel itself.
The town centre location is excellent (not the run down town centre though!) and ample car parking a bonus, especially with a wedding taking place.
Overall we were happy despite threes comments.
See above.
Room and bed excellent
Great place for the party in the evening.
Nothing
All of it. I have stayed here many times and the stay is always exeptional.
Room was very small, the mattress extremely soft and the room itself had no air. It was very hot .. had to have a window open all night but still extremely hot. There was a fan there but just blew about the hot air, so not much sleeping took place due to how uncomfortable the room was.
Air con.
Great staff, clean room and great location
The room was really hot, which made it very uncomfortable, we opened the windows and was kept awake with the air conditioning and lots of noise outside, so had very little sleep around 2 hours. We have stayed at The Cromwell many times with no problems but not this time, we will make sure we ask for a different room next time
Location was perfect
Very uncomfortable bed with the worst pillows
Meals were well organised and staffed. Very good food choices. We found a nice quiet walk called The Avenue, minutes from the hotel.
We had quite a few steps to get to our room but someone has to be on top floor! No lift.
Had to walk to hotel reception from car park at the back, no rear access.
Breakfast and location good
Long walk to room
Location
Car park overcrowding
