I loved this hotel. My bedroom was very large as was the bathroom - and it had a bath! The bed was huge and comfortable. The room was cleaned efficiently every day. I never take breakfast in foreign hotels because part of the joy of travelling is to find a local cafe and enjoy its ambience - plenty of those nearby. For me, the hotel was in an excellent location too - it's in a quiet street just two or three hundred yards from the historic centre. You can walk to the historic centre in a few minutes. Taxis from the airport can get the hotel easily too. There are Ubers a plenty. Although there are dozens of hotels in the historic centre, in a city with so many tourists and a tendency for people to dine late, with drinking even later, I suspect that those ones would be quite noisy at night and less accessible to taxis. No such problems at the Mariposa. Although I'm unlikely ever to come to Málaga again to stay in the city, if I did, I would have no hesitation of booking here again. Can thoroughly recommend.

Decorated with a keen artistic eye. Absolutely perfect location, extremely comfortable bed, amazing shower, exceptionally friendly staff. They even shipped some items that were left behind in the room.

We stayed three nights for a city break.
Breakfast was ok the bacon and sausage was not that good however the fruit yoghurt pastries etc were fine. It could do with some background music as people eat to help with the atmosphere. The hotel is in a good location however it can be noisy at 2am when the bins are emptied.
The roof top terrace is a good addition however take your own drinks as the bar doesn't open until early evening .You cant even get water .
The rooms are spacious and have everything you need..the bathroom is fully equipped.
We would stay again if in malaga

We're a family of four who stayed at this hotel for a week in August 2026 with two rooms booked. This is a brilliant hotel and I would definitely stay again.

Rooms were very comfortable and clean. A mini bar was also in each room which was handy and I thought it was a really nice touch having a fan, baseball cap, slippers and flip flops should you need them. There's a coffee machine and if you ask at reception they can also give you a kettle for tea. Rooftop bar is really nice and they have those spray mist things to keep you cool which was very much welcomed.

Breakfast was good and you could have freshly squeezed orange juice. Plenty of cereals, pastries, hams, cheeses to keep everyone happy. Cooked breakfast also available so bacon, scrambled eggs, small sausages and vegetarian options.

What made this place beyond just good was the housekeeping where they were spot on making up your rooms and they did brilliantly working around us as we were in and out of the hotel quite frequently. Reception was excellent too with nothing being too much trouble for them. Ordered taxis for us, offered to loan us parasols for the beach and gave me fresh milk for my tea.

Decor lovely too both inside and out. On the inside they have these amazing multicoloured sculptures dotted all over the hotel which is brilliant. And on the outside the hotel is quite famous for the plants that grow all over its walls outside. I regularly saw people taking photos of it so must be a bit of an attraction in its own right.
