Pros:

Nice old building

Cons:

Somehow they don’t take care as they should - eg cleaning the rooms was done with rooms open. As a guest you don’t need that.

Comfortable and quiet
Pros:

Very comfortable bed, good shower pressure.

Cons:

No bike stand on property, surprising when on a cycle route and there's an adjacent eatery. Honest Lawyer has many.
Receptionist gave key to my travel companion when he used the booking name. No confirmation of identity or thought for further security of booking or room. Clearly didn't recognise the name as feminine.

Great character accommodation
Pros:

We had a great staff at this character accommodation. It was well located for the event we were attending nearby. There was a couple of eateries nearby as well.

Nice big room, very comfortable.

Cons:

There was strange noises coming from the atticm sounded like mice or something. Scurrying noises most of the evening but never during the day but then I was out most of the day.

We were camping near Nelson for a week, and decided we’d book ourselves a one night getaway so we could go out for dinne

The manager was very helpful and lovely to deal with.
Nice bathroom.

Cons:

The whole place is run down. Stains on the carpet, little fridge standing on the carpet but not in a unit like an after thought. View out over a stagnant pond, tatty curtains. Clean but yellowing linen and over $200.00 per night.
Generally disappointing, would never go back.

Probably wouldn't stay again
Pros:

Bed was good and linen clean
Bathroom was clean
Location was quite good
Towels changed daily
Room size was ok

Cons:

Cracked lampshade
Windows didn't close properly
Carpet quite stained
Cracked tiles in the bathroom
Handbasin quite crazed
Towels in the bathroom could have been bigger and thicker - I am small, they barely went around me and were thin
Dust quite thick on the skirting boards around the fridge - very visible
Milk in the fridge could be improved by having a small bottle instead of a carton that had a straw
Throw on the bed was very stained on the underside
Gorgeous pool was advertised on the website but not available to Hotel people
The pool was the reason I booked here as it is summer - very disappointed when I learned I couldn't have access
