Quiet. Good location
Good Location and very clean rooms
Bed was comfortable. and linen was good.
Bedroom facilities were very poor. Bathroom extra small. Nowhere to put any cosmetics or bathroom items. Tea making facilities were also very poor. All on top of small fridge. Nowhere to plug in kettle. Had to move across room to plug in. The milk was a carton that you buy with a straw in it. No opening. Had to cut open and then it spilled everywhere. The kitchen facility was not much better. There was a toaster, but when I cooked toast there were no plates to put it on. All in all not very good.
Location and old world charm
Unfortunately I didn’t get much time in Nelson, and was stopping over for just one night. Late check in and very early check out meant I was only at the Grand Arden for about 9 hours. However, the staff I communicated with prior to my late arrival were very friendly and helpful, and made sure that once I had got there, all of the instructions were clear to allow easy check in. The room was very clean and comfortable.
N/A Didn’t stay long enough to find anything I didn’t like, and everything I encountered was really lovely. Wish I could’ve stayed longer!
Every thing was fine
No Hot water the next morning - had a cold shower
Charming building in the style of old English manor. More of an Air BB than a hotel
Location, comfortable bed, cleanness
Location was ok for 1 night stop over for our next journey
We arrived 50 minutes after check-in in time and was told our room wasn't ready and could we come back in 20 minutes. After travelling from Wellington. No was the answer. They gave us a room which hadn't been cleaned. The floor was filthy with coffee grounds everywhere. The room was just filthy. It's advertised with use if the pool, but its only for residents of the resort. I would avoid this place and look for something closer to town
The beds springs were damaged bed was very uncomfortable.
Location was good. It was nice and quiet. Rooms was made every day.
Suffered a power cut to the room around 8am
Wasn't able to boil the jug
Came back on about an hr later
Location
Tiny room. No dining facilities. No ideas as to where to find a drink or a restaurant. No lounge or community facility. No breakfast. Dated decor. Reception in huge room was strange when Reception cubby holes not functional.
A large room with a good view, watching the sunset over the water was stunning
Reception hours were limited, the on-siite restaurant was closed (luckily the hotel across the road was open and the food was great)
Dark and gloomy common areas, felt like the place was deserted.
Location is great and quaint setting
Receptionist not exactly friendly or accommodating
Nice old building
Somehow they don’t take care as they should - eg cleaning the rooms was done with rooms open. As a guest you don’t need that.
