Shama Lakeview Asoke Bangkok

Good trip in bkk. nice hotel staff.

I stayed here several times between December 2025 and March 2026.
The rooms have a washer/dryer machine, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, and hob, so it is easy to prepare meals. The Coffee Club restaurant has a great selection of meals.
The location is excellent. Walking distance to Benchakitti Park. An electric Tuk Tuk shuttle takes you to the Exchange Tower with easy access to the Asoke BTS and Terminal 21 or to the QSNCC MRT station.
The large pool area is very clean and great for relaxing, and the gym is well equipped.
All the staff are very professional, friendly, helpful, and always smiling. Receptionists Art, Tah, Koy and colleagues, and Concierge Bai, Tum, Azmie, Aod, Moo and Earth and the room maids all deserve a pay rise! Thank you for making me feel at home. I will definitely return for my next visit.

Property is very clean, very good location, big apartments, and everything is perfect.... except Breakfast, it must have some vegetarian options also for Asian or Indians..

I travel a lot and often and stay in everything between 3-5 star hotels.
I have over 100 000 views on Tripadvisor.
My favorite hotel in Thailand is Anantara which really shows what service and customer focus are all about. I may have slightly higher demands than the average guest, but this review is an opportunity for the hotel to improve the customer experience.

This was our 5th time at Shama hotel and we therefore corresponded our wishes to the reception in advance.
We are very aware that traffic noise can be heard in the rooms up to the 20th floor if the room faces the wrong direction.

Last time here Oct-25 (10 nights) was a huge disappointment with the maintenance in the elevator shafts and a room located a few meters from the elevators. I could not stay at all in the room during the day. (100 decibels!)

I thought in my naivety that the hotel could think of compensating for this this time but it did not happen.

Arrived at 12:00 and checked in then. The male receptionist promised that they would do everything to arrange a room on a higher floor in building B for a quieter stay. The room would be ready at 15:00.
At 14:45 another female receptionist bring our keys - to building A.
I clarify that we have an agreement to stay on a high floor in building B.
The receptionist gets annoyed and says that we then will have to wait even longer. Here is when manager ”Carrot” arrives to the counter.
At 3:00 PM I am again asking for the room but it is still not ready. At 3:15 PM we are assigned a room on the 10th floor, which is just above street level. Again we say that the first male we spoke to would arrange a room higher up. Also conveys my bad experience last time at the hotel and that this treatment is unacceptable.

We then have to wait even longer…
That the manager ”Carrot” does not have greater customer focus is beyond criticism.

At 3:30 PM we are in our room on the 19th floor, which we were actually promised from the beginning.
Giving returning guests such a bad start to their stay is incomprehensible. I might compare it to the level of service when it is at its best, at Anantara, but somewhere there is still a limit to bad treatment. Given how high the competition is between hotels in Bangkok, this is difficult to understand from a customer's point of view.

We will not come back to Shama again and we will not recommend this hotel to anyone else.

Remember: A satisfied guest tells it to 3 people. A dissatisfied customer tells it to 30 people.

FYI
The maintenance is still going on both in the elevator shafts and in other parts of the hotel and will do so throughout 2026 from 9 am-6 pm.
High noise is therefore to expect during your stay here on top of the heavy traffic around the hotel.

My husband and I love staying at Shama Asoke, this is our 3rd stay. It became our home away from home. Comfortable spacious rooms, clean, excellent service and very convenient location.
