Restaurant Staff, Bar, Restaurant, Security, Reception Staff were all super kind and friendly. Many of the amenities were in need of repairs . Water leak etc. However, I will definitely return
I read the lowest reviews for this place and they seemed like maybe they accidentally stayed in a different hotel. We walked from downtown and it was uphill all the way, just so you know. About 15 minute walk in the heat. The free breakfast was one of the best I have had for a place in this price range. Good selection of fruits and hot foods. The AC was totally quiet and effective. No noise for our stay. Pool on site was small but clean. Not too much in the area. 10 minute walk to a small grocery store. Bigger room than I am used to. Not a 5 star place, but nothing I would complain about. Nice and would stay again.
This review is offered respectfully and in good faith, with the intention of sharing our experience and providing constructive feedback. We recognize the efforts of individual staff members and understand that busy holiday periods can present challenges. However, we felt it important to highlight several areas where communication, organization, and guest support could be improved—particularly for international visitors. We hope this feedback will be received in the spirit intended and contribute positively to future guest experiences.
Yours faithfully,

Karibea Squash Hotel, Martinique – Disappointing Experience
The room was clean and comfortable, but over-all the stay was very disappointing due to poor communication, understaffing, and lack of organization.
Reception staff spoke very limited English, and there was no English information about hotel services or important local conditions. Guests were not informed that the entire city is closed on New Year’s Day, leaving no access to food outside the hotel. We were also not told that fireworks take place on December 30, not on New Year’s Eve.
Breakfast was chaotic. Although we were told it was served until 10:00 a.m., food was already finished well before then and tables were being cleared by 9:45. The selection was heavily pork-based, alternatives were not replenished, croissants were sometimes raw, and guests had to repeatedly ask for refills. One morning smoked salmon was refused until my husband complained.
On New Year’s Day we waited two hours for the bar and restaurant to open, with no snacks available. Dinner service was extremely slow and clearly understaffed—many guests waited over an hour, some left without being served, and we never received dessert.
Communication was very poor; staff often stated they only speak French. A flyer advertising happy hour/free drinks was misleading, as this never happened.
Most concerning was an earthquake alarm during our stay. Guests ran outside in panic, yet no explanation or reassurance was given afterward.
The entire experience felt like a Fellini movie—surreal and chaotic—but unfortunately, it was very real.
One positive note: Priscilla a staff member in the restaurant was kind, professional, and genuinely tried to improve our experience during the last days. She deserves recognition.
For the price, this level of service is unacceptable. We will not be returning.
Good customer service is the key to a successful business. Came to log in at the hotel, my room was not ready for more than 30 minutes after. Clearly I had a ask if it was ready because the person at the desk forgot. She was not a hostile person, but not a very pleasant person. There's no elevator at the annex section, only stairs. Sadly no one was available to take customers luggages to take to their room. You have to fight up on your own until the male workers doing other portfolios will come and assist you. The lighting in the room is not bright at all, just lamps and dull bulbs. Room was clean and spacious. Bathroom a bit small and uncomfortable. Not all that for what is advertised online, but it can pass. The buffet breakfast was good.
This was a very good option for us because we wanted to be close to the airport but still have a pool and a sea view. The room was comfortable and the staff very helpful, in particular in giving me directions for various errands I needed to run.
My stay at the Karibea hotel proved to be a rewarding one. Management was very responsive to any issue I had. The room was well kept and comfortable.
Property was good and the stay was good the only reason I gave a 4 star is because the housekeeper keeps forgetting to replenish my coffee.
Bien passé
Proximity to the city centre
I was hoping to be a little closer to a beach area. I think that the hotel is perfect for holding business conventions. We really enjoyed the restaurant and the room. Very spacious and plenty of shelving for storage.
The hotel was okay but not wow for the price. I paid $230 CAD. I must say the buffet was okay but not wow. Otherwise you can walk to the main area takes around 20 minutes.
Property was very clean and the restaurant onsite had excellent food, the person at the front desk spoke English and was able to provide us with all the information we needed.
A positive experience - we only stayed for one night, but we enjoyed the pool and breakfast. The view is amazing!
Nice hotel, well located, good facilities in the room, good breakfast, nice staff, helpful in organizing transport/
We stayed here on 2 separate weekends & the service was amazing. Front desk staff was so helpful. We were able to store our luggage & explore the city until our room was ready. The rooms were very clean & smelled great.
Don’t stay here if you want to sleep.
DJ was extremely loud, patrons running the halls who kept trying to open our door. Front desk would not answer the phone and security did nothing. Any of our requests fell on deaf ears.
Hotel is loud, young school group is here running around making a lot of noise and tried to get into our room. Didn’t feel safe. Front desk told us it would be quiet by 8:30 and to call if noisy. they did not pick up the phone when we called numerous times. We went downstairs and they then told us they wouldn’t do anything. We told him the one security person as well and they just shrugged us off. Don’t stay here.
Very nice. Breakfast was excellent. Dinner was terrible. Dont recommend
