Pros:

We had a fantastic stay in a family room—it was spacious, clean, and perfect for traveling with kids. The beds were comfortable, and the room layout gave everyone plenty of space to relax.

The pool was a bonus, It was well-maintained, warm enough for the children, and never felt overcrowded.

We also enjoyed having both dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant. Dinner had a great selection, including kid-friendly options, and everything was tasty and freshly prepared. Breakfast the next morning was excellent as well, with a good mix of hot and cold items and plenty to choose from.

we would definitely stay again

Good value
Pros:

Had a very good stay at the Maldron Hotel in Limerick. The staff were friendly and welcoming from the minute I arrived, and check-in was quick and easy. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed for a short stay.

The leisure facilities were a nice bonus—good pool and gym, well looked after. Breakfast was tasty with plenty of choice, though it did get busy at times. The hotel location is handy for getting around Limerick, with parking on-site which made things simple.

Overall, a solid 4-star experience. Great value, good service, and a comfortable stay. I’d happily return.

Grubby and in need of updating
Pros:

Although the bed linen, towels and room was clean the hotel is very grubby. Carpets need replacing and bath, shower and bathroom generally was in poor condition. Rust marks on hand basin. Shower was difficult to turn on because part was broken. Shower head dirty and disgusting. Staff very nice and helpful

Can't wait to return
Pros:

We stayed the 31st of August and again on the way back on the 3rd September both for 1 night. Checked in with a lovely guy didn't get his full name but it begins with s and an unusual name.
Our room was lovely and the food in the bar was lovely as well.
We have stayed there many times now and love it .
On check out a lovely lady who was so nice and is the front office manager, she is an asset to the hotel so friendly.
Thank you for a lovely stay and can't wait to go back .

Pretty lousy all the way around
Pros:

A lousy experience all the way around. Front desk staff was courteous but not particularly helpful. We had lunch waiting on our room and it was awful - I mean really really bad and tasteless. No air conditioning in the room and it was soooo loud to open windows. Kids running all around the hotel and the restaurant was incredibly loud and boisterous. I would recommend going elsewhere for food - not good.

Extremely disappointing
Pros:

Setting for the hotel was horrible. The Bar was like a community centre, no atmosphere, freezing cold, too bright, staff need training on how to professionally work in the hospitality sector but the food was actually lovely. The room was too hot, no air con but thankfully the fan on full blast helped to drown out the constant noise. (This was an upgraded room due to no sleep the 1st night). The bathroom is very grubby, needs refurbishment. Breakfast was lovely but the heavy grey net curtains to hide the view made it feel very dingy. Staff are friendly. Overall I'll never stay again and will be advising other to avoid. Thankfully limerick had much to offer and keep us entertained as I was dreading returning to the hotel. An expensive mistake.

Disappointed
Pros:

We stayed for 2 night, first night in room 112 was awful, we got no sleep at all, fan directly outside kept us awake all night, then at 7:20 on Saturday morning there was a huge lot of noise made when a lorry pulled in to off load a delivery beneath our window. I rang reception and they kindly arranged for us to move to room 343 later that day, so our 2nd night was much quieter and we could sleep undisturbed.
We had dinner in the bar on the Friday evening. We bizarrely had our starters and main courses served all at once, with four of us at the table it was very crowded and difficult to make room to eat in comfort. When we asked why everything was served at once, the male waiters reply was "I didn't take your order". The so called bar has literally zero atmosphere, more akin to a canteen than a bar, very boring and uninteresting.
The food was nice, and breakfast was nice too. The staff are all friendly. The place is clean. Beds very comfortable. Ensuite basic and in dire need of refurbishment, for example I don't think a shower curtain is practical or hygienic and loose floor tiles with no grout in places is not exactly safe or nice to look at.
Having already stayed at 2 Maldron hotels and had a similar experience in both, I was hoping that this would be a case of third time lucky, however it was more a case of 3 strikes and your out.
At €482 for 2 night including breakfast it wasn't good value at all.
It was a disappointment from arrival.
Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend this or any Maldron hotel, I will never stay at one again and would advise others to avoid.

2 star hotel. Avoid the food
Pros:

Fine if you just want somewhere to sleep.
Stayed here for 2 nights midweek for work. The bedroom was clean and tidy but in the bathroom there was mould on the shower tiles. I used the gym which was ok but not very clean and some of the equipment was rusted and not cleaned.
I got dinner on the first night. The menu was basic and there was no beef burger available so I got a very average chicken burger which was tasteless.
There is nothing to do near the hotel unless you want to visit the tanning salon or off licence attached to the hotel.
The breakfast was average. Hot food inedible, cereals and fruit adequate.

Poor would not recommend very disappointed
Pros:

Service and food in the restaurant very poor. There was tape stuck over the buttons at the lift and inside the lift were buttons were out of order but not repaired.Doors on to balcony extremely dodgy and unsafe not to mention the moss and grime on balcony leads me to think the exterior hasn't been treated in a while. Also there was damage to skirting boards in bedroom from an obvious old leak from the shower. The shower curtain did not stay positioned where it was meant to.Decor overall needs a huge upgrade inside and outside this hotel. There was a lump of broken wood dumped in the bushes in the outside seating area that was sticking out could easily harm a child if they didnt spot it.Not to mention alot of anti social behaviour setting of alarms in the hotel in the evening time. Also to mention our car was recieved a dint to the door in the carpark which i note per carefully placed signage the hotel does not take responsibility for.I fully believe this hotel was overpriced based on decor quality of services. It was not the comfortable chilled family break we intended it to be, i would not recommend a stay here. Also please note there is a halting site next to this hotel.

5 star experience.
Pros:

I called in this morning for coffee and a scone. I was absolutely delighted with the service from Conor, and the delicious coffee and scone, served with butter, jam, cream and a dusting of icing sugar.
The hotel is beautifully clean, and the staff are lovely. Definitely deserves more than 3 stars!

3* Maldron chain hotel - as expected
Pros:

All in working order nothing special.
Building appears to be in good knick, as one would expect for a large chain; certainly no charm or personality.

Bar downstairs is bland and clinical. The manager (Noel I think) was friendly and the food was good, as was the Guinness!

I was put in an accessible room (which I would find strange unless requested or a full house).
This was also an interconnecting room.
The bathroom was pleasantly large but more of a 'wet room'.
The floors were dirty and the showerhead was pretty gross.

All the bedroom doors slam loudly in the corridors.

Everything just meh.
Did the job.

Horribly noisy oversprung banging hotel room doors.
Pros:

I got in late because I was performing a late night concert in the city and I was stuck for a place to stay because a booking at an AirBnB got messed up by the host and I'd trouble finding more reasonably priced accommodation at such short notice, so I only got to sleep in the early hours. And what should happen at around 7am onwards, which resulted in not getting anywhere near enough sleep? - Loads of people (possibly from that young sports team I heard about who were staying there) opening and allowing their doors to slam shut, meaning I couldn't get any more sleep that I badly needed, and that's the primary reason I needed to stay in the hotel, so I cannot honestly say I was satisfied with it. Why are the doors fitted with such strong springs that automatically close the door loudly? It makes no sense for a place that's primarily supposed to be a relaxing place to sleep, no?, or am I 'taking crazy pills'?

These guests were obviously oblivious and totally inconsiderate of the doors they could've easily prevented from banging, but I also think it's partly the hotels fault for installing doors that bang shut unless someone holds the handle to soften it's otherwise loud closing.

Maybe someone could see fit to retrofit some small adhesive thin strip of a type padding on the frame where the door meets the frame so that it dampens the impact considerably. It would be a relatively cheap measure to mitigate the negative consequences of the feature. I've installed 3cm long adhesive bits of window insulation on a few doors at home to achieve this and it works. A roll of that is super cheap and there's loads of it when one considers how little one needs for each door. I'm just mentioning this detail to prove it can be done and next-to-no cost.

Room, bed, sheets, bathroom, water provided, etc., were all fine, but to get only around half the amount of sleep needed was not worth the €145 I paid for that night.

I'm docking at least 3 stars for the seriously noisy banging doors of the rooms. After all, if you cannot sleep any more due to ceaseless banging at far too early a time (7am onwards) on a Saturday morning for someone who was working very late then what's that worth?

Very disappointed
Pros:

The hotel is clean and staff are nice and the pool is very good however, The state paying guests have a lovley area facing onto a small quite garden (confirmed by our taxi driver) whilst the full paying guests rooms are facing onto the main road where traffic is constant. With additional noise from the site across the road. The rooms are so warm with no thermostat you have no choice but to keep the windows open. The walls are paper thin room next to us had a party and it took 3 calls to reception before they did anything about it. The second night there was like a rave somewhere near until early morning. So what was supposed to be a relaxing break away has left me exhausted. If booking here please ensure you do not have a room at the front facing the road. Location is also 9 minutes drive into the city.

Great stay, staff were fantastic. Food poor
Pros:

The hotel is in a good location, just on the outskirts of town. All the staff were very accommodating and polite. The room was sufficient, clean, spacious and comfortable.
There's an underground carpark which was great for parking securely.
I was disappointed in the food both in the bar and for breakfast. Very poor quality.
