The place is very nice.
The place was very clean on arrival. Great location. Easy access to evrything you need.
No housekeeping. I believe the money we paid should have included daily house keeping. It's ridiculous that they expected an extra R600 daily for housekeeping. Also if you are not going to provide housekeeping they could have atleat ensured the facility has access to a broom and mop. We had to request those aside. The breakfast was definitely not worth the money. They made us pay R250 pp for a breakfast menu that sold food worth R89 to R120? On top of that the breakfast menu doesn't include a typical English breakfast? What's the point? Very dissapointing to say the least.

The only thing I liked was the view from the room. For the price I paid, I could have stayed at a better hotel that included breakfast and Wi-Fi.
After a long and tiring flight, we had to wait even longer and were asked to pay an additional R1000 deposit, which was refunded at check-out. The stove knob was broken, and there was an unpleasant smell in the room. This hotel is definitely not the same as when I stayed here a few years ago. Unfortunately, I won’t be booking at Mandela Rhodes again.
I have been struggling to get my deposit back from the property. It has been more than the stipulated 14 working days. I feel as though I have been scammed as nobody is giving me any feedback about my deposit!
The aircon wasn't properly functioning in the main living area. The aircon in the main bedroom was broken, the switch was broken off. There was no bath plug in the main bathroom, housekeeping seemed to be aware of it too. I had to request one the next morning. We were a family of 4 but had cutlery for 3,crockery here and there for 2 or 3 pax. The tumble dryer was broken.
The noise levels were extremely bad in the mornings (and I'm not referring to the chapel's church bells either).
The property could definitely invest more on the little things, pay attention to detail on areas that could make a huge difference to their guests' stay.

Housekeeping was daylight robbery, the one lady even left the cushions of the main bedroom on the floor. No fresh smell after the cleaning as if there any detergents utilised.
I wanted to check out the morning but was informed that I would forfeit my money, so I was basically forced to stay on.
I'm always looking forward to trips, my mood on high, but this truly a disappointment for me.
Maybe had I not stayed there BEFORE a few years back, I wouldn't be as shocked.
I have never in my life written such a long review on any property, especially of a negative kind.
Like I said previously 'THE PROPERTY OWNER CAN TRULY DO BETTER'.
The staff however were very pleasant, I think with the lack of resources they're dealing with it must be tough. I commend their staff for that, it's definitely not on them.

The fact that I have not received my deposit back after 6 weeks. I was told it would be refunded in 7-14 working days. Still no refund
and now I am not getting responses to my messages.

Felt like a cave
The manager Janice made the extra effort to secure a suitable room for my aged parents. She and her team ensured that our stay was pleasant and the everything worked well.
Perhaps more tags to allow older kids to move within the building on their own.
My AC was down, but otherwise 👌
