Waterside Hotel & Leisure Club

My boyfriend had a medical emergency and the hotel were amazing. Everyone working was so helpful and kind. I cannot give them a better review they were absolutely perfect. They also gave us some vouchers and helped with the room. Katherine and Mark were specifically wonderful but everyone was so amazing. I cannot thank them enough. Also the rooms are so comfy it was so lovely when we got back from the hospital to rest and recover and the food was wonderful. 10/10 cannot thank them enough for helping us in a very scary moment. (He’s also fine now don’t worry)

Came here to stay with my husband as a Christmas treat!! Staff here are exceptional! Cannot praise them enough, they went out of their way to make our stay extra special, especially Skye on reception who gave us a complimentary upgrade. Food and facilities were also great, will definitely be back.

Unfortunately, my experience with Waterside has been very poor.

I was informed by staff that I would be placed on a monthly contract. However, upon trying to cancel they informed me I was signed up to a longer contract instead.

When I raised this and tried to address the issue, many of the points I raised were not directly responded to. Communication felt avoidant, with key questions repeatedly going unanswered despite multiple follow-ups.

I made consistent efforts to resolve the matter constructively, but the situation became unnecessarily prolonged and frustrating. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Waterside.

Rare review from me, I always mean to leave one and then forget, but not this time.

We wanted a hotel near the airport without that “airport hotel” vibe, so we could actually relax and treat it like an extra holiday night rather than a stopover. Absolutely the right call.

Location: Close, but far enough away to feel calm.
Staff: Every single person we spoke to was brilliant, friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful.
Room: Clean, modern, and exactly as expected. We booked the small double, it was fine, but we’ll go for a king next time.
Food: Really good value and properly tasty. The chicken Caesar salad and carbonara were excellent, and breakfast was spot on too.
Facilities: The standout. The pool and the new spa area were genuinely impressive, easily up there with hotels I’ve stayed in that are 4 or 5-star. Not what you expect from a 3-star.

A deserved 5/5 from us. Keep it up, we’ll be back.

Only stayed for the night to catch a flight back home, but it was the best! The food was incredible, and the sauna was lovely and clean. Shaun was great checking us in so late, and Josh and Calum (with one L!) were super friendly at check out. Also very close to the airport, which made things even easier!

Lovely hotel, good value for money. Rooms a little on the cosy side. Staff all really friendly and helpful, especially the bar staff and Calum on reception. Would recommend

Just ok, nothing special. Room basic, carpet ripped at door and gets stuck, making it difficult to open the door. Weird noises in the roof all night.

Breakfast awful. Clearly been sitting there for hours.

The more I write this the more I don’t want to come back.

I recently stayed at The Waterside with my sister as a relaxing night away from the kids. We are local and have stayed several times before. I also recommend this hotel regularly to work colleagues for short stays when in the area for business.

The staff are friendly and helpful, the hotel is clean and tidy and the king rooms are spacious.

What really sets this hotel apart is the fantastic pool and spa facilities which are free to use during your stay.

We love this place for the occasional night away from reality and will be booking our next visit soon.

I arrived earlier than expected due my boss booking the wrong flight. I was exhausted and just wanted to sleep. That's when I encountered the biggest smile and positive attitude I have come across in a LONG TIME.

Her name is Olivia, she not only checked to see if I could get a free room but told me to leave my bag behind the desk and go get some food. As I was eating she came to advise not only was my room ready but she also had my bag taken up to the room.

This put the biggest smile on my face and I cannot speak highly enough of what a genuinely wonderful person she is and how much she cares for the guest. She is a total credit to the team and the company !!

Excellent leisure space but very poor hotel: tiny room, mediocre breakfast.
I believe we could something better for the same price.
Not very sympathetic team: We were 5 minutes late to check out and they we’re already calling the room to ask us to leave. I travel a lot and nothing like that ever happened to me before.

We stayed for 6 nights whilst visiting family in the area. Pros - very clean, great leisure centre with a huge pool, lovely team in all areas who were very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast. Nice bar.
Cons - the rooms are very small (but well equipped and very clean), shower over the bath (prefer a walk in shower), car parking is a bit difficult (could some spaces be allocated for hotel guests?), have to request the room to be serviced.

Perfect location for RHS Bridgewater and Lowry centre. Staff welcoming and helpful. Room spotless. Leisure facilities look very good just didn't have time to use. Excellent breakfast.

We recently stayed at The Waterside Hotel and Leisure Club, and the experience was truly exceptional from start to finish. Every member of the team, from reception to the dining room and the leisure club, was genuinely warm, attentive, and incredibly helpful.
In summary, this was a genuinely lovely stay. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway where high standards of cleanliness meet exceptional service, I wholeheartedly recommend The Waterside Hotel and Leisure Club.

A wonderful hotel with exceptional staff and fantastic facilities. We stayed in a lovely double room overlooking the river. It was spacious and very clean with a great bathroom with a lovely shower.
We used the pool which was a great size and lovely and clean. It was great value for money.

Parking no issues, very pleasant surroundings, staff helpful and friendly, facilities excellent, great value for money

We stayed here for one night to visit our son. The place is really nice, lovely room and the facilities are first class with a huge pool and gym. It was the staff however that make it five star, the reception, bar and breakfast staff were so welcoming and friendly and it felt they would do anything to make your stay even better. To top it off a great breakfast and really fantastic value! Will definitely be back!

Impeccably clean, staff second to none, breakfast lovely as ever. Highly recommend.
