Convenient city location in iconic building
Pros:

Great location for our conference a block away from this hotel. Friendly staff and secure valet parking. Large rooms with separate living from the bedroom.

Cons:

After checking into a room on level 2 I discovered a strong smell of what I would describe as mold, potentially from a water leak maybe, so was moved to the same room a floor above which was better but had extremely poor internet access and despite calling reception it was never resolved, so I had to use the conference venue wifi for the work I needed to do during my stay.

Dirty tiny rooms
Pros:

Location is perfect

Cons:

Dirty room twice, had to change rooms and they are so tiny. It is also $50 for valet

Pros:

Staff was nice, hotel is located centrally, walking distance to Little Italy and Gaslamp Quarter.

Cons:

Hotel is outdated, rooms as well. They are furnished as on the picture, but in such good/new condition. Parking is 40/50$ (self/valet).

Disponibilità a lasciare bagagli.
Parcheggio accanto (che però è gestito male).

Cons:

Due ascensori, di cui uno rotto e mai riparato in 4 giorni.
Acqua fredda il primo giorno per problema tecnico (nemmeno una scusa).
Personale non sempre cordiale.
Parcheggio gestito super male: la maggior parte delle volte non si trova posto e devi lamentare il problema al desk (anche se hai già pagato per tutto il periodo).
Camera buia e da rimodernare.
Bagno scomodo, con lavandino dietro alla porta di ingresso.
Corridoi poco profumati.

Pros:

Staying at the Sofia Hotel was a lovely experience for a staycation downtown. The staff was great and accommodating of my two requests (late check out and storing luggage). The room was comfortable and the location was ideal for walking around downtown and the Gaslamp.

Cons:

There was only one working elevator and the elevator was small. A single luggage trolley and two people filled the entire elevator. I did opt for the stairs one time as I didn't want to wait for the elevator.

Perfect in every way!
Pros:

What a treat this hotel was. It is the restored original Pickwick Hotel from the 20s! The room we had was small but was perfect for the two of us. Very modern, clean, well kept. The staff was all very helpful and genuinely friendly. We ate brunch in the restaurant, Truva (sp?), it was delicious!
