The location was great, the staff was kind and I loved that it was an historic building
Rooms were smallish
Spacious room. Clean. Daily cleaning. Good restaurant attached with a 10% discount to guests.
No breakfast. A bit far from the convention center.
Really well done renovations. Cool property. Close to everything. Staff was great.
Nothing really. The lighting on various floors is intentionally dark, which was strange. The elevators are really small.
The hotel was beautiful and very cool! The staff was amazing and the location was prime! I loved that the hotel has been around for over 100 years. The connected Mediterranean restaurant bar was fabulous as well.
Location
It is a 100+ year old hotel and it shows, lobby and rooms are outdated, carpets are old and not in best condition as well as rooms, TV are small and not even centered
Location
The air conditioner in our room did not work very well and I really think they need to replace the windows
Das eigentlich alte Hotel, Im Preis/Leistungsverhältniss, etwas übervotet.
Great coffee, clean and comfortable, and great location. Staff was immediately responsive to anything needed. Nicely decorated and loved my stay!
The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and the staff friendly and welcoming. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay.
This old-style hotel building has been nicely updated and offers a great location to downtown/waterfront San Diego. If you don't mind the small room style, this has a lot to offer at a reasonable price, with excellent service provided by management and staff.
the restuarant was also a pleasent surprice. We had drinks/appeti=zers the night we arrived, and brunch the day we were leaving, and both experiences were pelasent, delicious and came with excellent service.
They also went beyond expectations when my wife left a rather nice sweater in the lobby we had to retrieve later in our trip. I would stay here again if a downtown location is needed.
Just be aware, old-style hotels mean;
•smaller rooms, which imakes it tight with modern sized bedding and walk-in showers.
• not really scenic windows, they're primarily to let some light in.
•no pools or roof decks
-all which are OK with me.
This hotel is a charming, historic building, with rooms that have been nicely updated with beautiful cabinetry, frameless glass shower surround, and high-end tech, such as sophisticated lighting controls and plenty of USB charging ports. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. It was also a nice surprise to find they offered a secure storage room for luggage as I had to check-out hours before leaving for the airport. I would certainly stay here again.
This urban hotel is very comfortable a great place to stay in downtown, close to everything but not too much in the middle of the Gaslamp madness. Modest, yet feels very special.
No breakfast offered. No pool or hot tub.
Friendly and fast check-in, great location, comfy bed, basic amenities.
This is an older hotel that despite surface renovations is still showing its structural age. The colors and lighting throughout the hallways and room are a bit gloomy. The room I stayed in was small with no view (windows facing other rooms), but was cozy.
