Comfort Inn & Suites Cave City

In the span of 24 hours we had to relocate to three different rooms! First one the shower flooded, second one the power went out on half of the room (including the bathroom lighting)! Being a choice hotels member didn't do us any good, as we weren't compensated for the big inconveniences!

Bathroom looked like it had mold in bath tub. Broken and chipped tile in bathroom. Carley was worn out. Bedding needed some bleach

The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff was friendly and checkin ws quick and efficient.

We stayed about four hours in our room before giving up and going to a different nearby hotel for the night. Before we left, other guests were slamming doors so loudly (over and over again) that the pictures hanging on our walls were rattling, and we kept hearing the thudding footsteps of someone who was running overhead. This wasn't a single occurrence before the new guests moved in and settled -- it kept going on. Then our plumbing malfunctioned, and the front desk clerk said he was unable to help us (and then went back to reading on his phone). On the positive side, our room was nice enough -- it's just that the noise and malfunctions made it impossible to enjoy it.

The promises made for an expensive rom was never kept and the Manager on duty was rude
The room as advertised described to have a partition door and upon checking in i see that it was just a gimmick because the front desk said there is no such thing and advised to take another room and to find later a heavy charge for the extra room was billed. When complained to the manager she shrugged it was not a big deal

Breakfast was ok...maybe a switch up everyday would be nice. Staff were nice and actually seemed like they cared.

centrally located, easy to get in and out of and clean.

Room had not been cleaned, hair in tub, coffee maker supplies not refilled, bed made messily and pillows placed unattractively on the bed.

Sink drained very slowly

Bathroom towel sets not refreshed.

Thursday 04/22/26 Breakfast scarce, sausage & scrambled eggs, waffle maker available x2 which is always nice, but batter was so thin that much of the batter was lost when the item was turned to start the cook timer, coffee was horrible- not drinkable even with extra cream and sugar, truly horrible.



Friday 04/23/26 Breakfast is exactly the same, including sausages that looked and tasted like they were a from the previous day. Dry and edges darkened and tough. Waffle mix actually seems thinner which I thought was't possible.

Friday AM we went to the front desk and requested maid service, clean the tub, new linens on the bed and new towel.set, maintenance to fix stopped up sink drain



Upon our return we saw the manager that we made the request leaving. When she saw us she quickly put her head down and increased her pace so she didn't have to engage us.

When we returned that afternoon between 3-4pm nothing had been done in our room, sink was still draining slow.

We went to the front desk and spoke to the evening staff lady about our request. We were told that the housekeeping supervisor had not shown up that morning which must be the reason this didn't get done.

She offered me a new towel set, which I did receive.

This situation astonishes me. There seems to be enough competition in the area that customer satisfaction would be a priority.

What should have happened, or what I believe should have happened is that preferable the room would have been released and the sink fixed.

Since this didn't happen the evening staff could have apologized for the oversite and if no house cleaning staff were still onsite she could have passed along our request to the manager/housekeeping the next day.

No one took responsibility for these issues nor offered a solution. No one apologized for the issues. We found the complete lack of customer service to be shocking, especially in an area that is supported by tourism where multiple similarly prices options exist.

We have stayed at Comfort Inn on multiple occasions. This is the first time we have experienced any problems and what is possibly the worst breakfast experience we've encountered in North America.

Other items that would have made out stay better:

Pool heated instead of ambient temperature.

Very clean, great location to I 65 and all the caves in the area.
Close to Louisville, corvette museum

3/11/26. Comfortable hotel, easy on/off access to I-65. We have stayed at this hotel many times over the years. Comfortable rooms, nice breakfast, clean rooms.

Convenient to Mammoth Cave, clean, and staff was kind

Bed and pillows were comfy. Room was spacious.

The staff was great.
