Ideal for a night away in a good location
Pros:

Excellent location, staff very friendly. Great size room, clean and comfortable. Great having a little fridge in the room. Added bonus of having live music in the square outside the hotel in the afternoon.

Cons:

Only slight negative was struggled to get the shower temp any cooler.

Central Independent Hotel
Pros:

I spent 4 nights in this friendly character hotel. There is a lot to like. It’s centrally located and in easy walking distance of theatres, the Winter Gardens, loads of restaurants and so on. There is a guest lounge and a bar which seemed to be 24-7. Staff are welcoming and helpful. My room was decent size and had desk, chair, TV, quiet and effective A/C and tea and coffee. Comfortable bed. It’s an old building on a nice square with character detail. Each day I was there someone appeared to be working on its upkeep.
Breakfast was buffet style in a small cellar type dining room. It was ok, but I think if there was space upstairs in a nicer room it would transform the experience.
I would definitely consider it if I returned to Sheffield.

Overall - Very good. Enjoyed the Live Music in Leopold Square on Friday Night !
Pros:

It’s central location. The square to the rear. The bright aspect. The cleanliness. The large comfortable bed. The friendliness and hard working staff.

Cons:

My only real gripe was a very narrow and lack of selection of drinks over the bar and the fact that the limited stock of spirits was kept under lock and key?

Lovely hotel but be prepared for noisy location
Pros:

This hotel is in an excellent location and everywhere is walkable. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Being sports fans, we enjoyed the fact that there was an air conditioned lounge, with a large TV, where we watched the Wimbledon final. The world cup was also showing on more than one TV. Room was clean, a good size and bed very comfortable. No restaurant but pizza and bar snacks available until late. I didnt have the hotel breakfast so can't comment. Fridge in room and complimentary water and decent biscuits!

Cons:

The weather was very hot and 29 degrees in the room when I arrived at 9pm at night, it did cool down over my stay but seemed to take a long time to achieve this. The downside of the location on Leopold square is the noise. Live music both Saturday and Sunday afternoon (seasonal) and the music from the bars is on until after 2am, excluding Sunday night when they close earlier and some respite was achieved. Base line could be heard in my room and did disturb me. Some rooms may have been quieter. Hotel provides ear plugs but these weren't very effective, I bought my own once there. Obviously the hotel can't help the location but important to know if you choose to stay here.

Lovely hotel in great location
Pros:

Fantastic location, lovely comfortable well appointed room.

Cons:

The bar area was lovely and the tables outside were great, however if seated outside they had to serve drinks in plastic cups. Understandable, but to order nice wine and £13 cocktails and have it served in a flimsy plastic cup, was disappointing - there are many nice looking sturdy plastic cocktail glasses and wine glasses these days. The hotel really needs to invest in some of these as the thin cups were just not doing it. We would have had many more drinks had the glasses not looked like the type you give squash to children in!

Mediocre
Pros:

Great location but a mediocre hotel that over promises and doesn’t give good value. Room fairly basic. WiFi inadequate for a Zoom call I needed to make. “Luxury toiletries” consisted solely of handwash and shower gel, neither of them in any way luxurious. Only one bedside light worked. No slippers, no robe.

A great value hotel with wonderful staff
Pros:

I had an issue with my room. Since it was late on Sunday and maintenance weren't on-site, I was upgraded to one of their nicest rooms within minutes! It was so kind and very exciting to be treated like that. I've never received such fantastic treatment from any hotel. The bed was wonderfully soft - the kind you sink into - and I slept like a rock for 8+ hours. The showers were good, bathrooms were good, service was great. No notes whatsoever. Perfect stay.
