My room was beautiful and very luxurious. Rye is a pretty little town.
Nothing!!
Chambers petites mais sincèrement très très jolies
Rien
We have just returned from our son’s wedding at The George in Rye, and had the most fabulous time. It was a large wedding which took over the whole hotel, and from the minute we arrived the staff were amazing. It was such a warm and friendly atmosphere. The canapés, wedding breakfast and breakfast were all exceptional.
Anna Campanella, the wedding planner goes the extra mile to make everything just so, and greets everyone with warmth and great care. All the staff were so nice, efficient and friendly. The rooms are cosy and beautifully decorated. Rye is such a beautiful setting for a wedding, and the short walk to the Town Hall for the ceremony was lovely, and the return with the town crier leading the way, was an exceptional experience.
We can’t recommend it enough.
I really liked the atmosphere here — the venue is decorated beautifully and has a warm, inviting feel that makes it easy to settle in and enjoy yourself. The drinks were lovely and well-prepared, and the bar staff were very friendly and welcoming, which definitely added to the overall experience.
However, I was quite shocked when my scallop arrived. While it was nicely presented and tasted good, it was just a single scallop priced at £11, which felt excessive and a bit disappointing. It unfortunately took away from what was otherwise a really pleasant visit.
Great location in the centre of town. Beautiful hotel, staff friendly, welcoming and helpful. Lovely room, spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Great value for money - it felt luxurious and made our overnight stay feel like a real holiday.
Very quiet in the rooms even tho it’s on the high street.
Food and service excellent. Would highly recommend.
This was such a lovely stay! We went for a night stay jus to relax and this place was perfect. Harry the concerige was lovely from the start helping with recomendations, we then came to check in and Ruby was super lovely, we got a cute map of the village and a great idea for lunch! Our room was so lovely, a massive bath and a cute radio that was playing as we went in, made the atmosphere so great!! We then went out for dinner and came back for some drinks in the bar, Harry the bartender was so lovely and made us some delicious drinks. Slept like a baby and had a lovely day in rye!
10/10 recommend , the courtyard area is really sweet for a drink in the sunshine :)
The room and even though I didn't eat breakfat but a few times in the 7 days I was there, I could see what a full breakfast menu was available.
The front lobby is deplorable, furnishings need to be replaced. The sofa and cushions looked like they have been used as a dog bed. Stuffing from the sofa was underneath on the floor, I didn't go near it.
Everything
I didn't like that the second night I booked was over $100 more expensive. Coudn't quite figure that out.
Breakfast was as expected, I tried the toasties and they were great, just about right for me as I am not a big morning eater.
The only thing that happened that upset our usual routine was a wedding reception held in the courtyard, where we like to settle for a drink when we got back to the hotel. Not a big deal but inconvenient as I am a smoker, so the courtyard ws ideal for me, especially as the weather was sunny and warm.
Perfect location.
Nothing
Beautiful hotel, lovely room.

The hotel room was gorgeous, big bed and a bath in the room! The food in the restaurant was delicious. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The beer garden was well maintained and very comfortable.
The light above our bathroom mirror didn’t work. The starters in the restaurant were a bit complicated, could’ve been simpler.
The staff are so lovely here. Rooms are great proportions and high level or cleanliness throughout.
The restaurant manager is a great character and made us feel so welcome. Breakfast was lovely and restaurant service was informal but personal.
The cosy double bedrooms would be great to come with coat hooks on the wall or back of door.
My family, 6 of us, stayed at The Grorge, Rye April 2026. We had 3 'Superior' rooms. These rooms were absolutely filthy, thick(no, VERY thick) dust and dirt every where - in my letter (email) of complaint to the 'so called General Manager', a Mr Sergio Gomes, I likened the rooms to what I thought you may find in a Doss House (not that we've ever been in one).
The 'double flush' toilet was broken and didn't work, the spoons provided in the room were too large to fit in the neck of the coffee jar so it had to be 'poured out', totally senseless and irresponsible indicating a 'couldn't care less' attitude. You had to guess where the staff had hidden the tea, coffee, milk etc (hidden in a box in the corner of the wardrobe with a hair dryer on top).
In reply to my email to Mr Gomes, all he could offer as a gesture of good will, was an upgrade should we stay there in the future. Firstly we already had (so called) upgraded rooms which we paid for and were disgusting, so what's the point of accepting that so-called upgrade, and secondly, why on earth would we want to stay there again.
Finally, just to add insult to injury, in an email apology to my son, Mr Gomes couldn't even get our surname correct. You may think that is excusable - NOT in this case - our surname is RYE. Yes the Hotel is in Rye, our surname is Rye, but the email was addressed to Mr Ryan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Incompetant throughout - need I say any more.
