The hotel was very ‘tired’ looking. Our room had condensation on a large window that wouldn’t go, it looked awful! Broken window in the bathroom. The bed!!!! On wheels with spindly little legs, every turn was accompanied with squeaks and springs going. The room had a ‘smoky’ smell, clearly it had been smoked in. The paint in the room was patchy and NOTHING like the photos on line. How is this a 3 star hotel????? 2 at best and that’s being generous. Hideous loud talking neighbour. 10am chuck out time, usually 11 in most others these days.
£141 for one night in late September, one dog and a car park space. Absolute rip off, I don’t mind paying for nice hotels, this definitely was not that, it felt ‘dirty’ old and smelly. You’ve been warned (and you would think those with dogs would be given low floor rooms)???
This Brittania hotel is more suited for students as decor is all white and tired, furniture is old and during this period the hotel does not clean the room during guest stay. The room size was good and had attached bathroom and the shower was functional. Breakfast was reasonable and limited and very small choices for vegetarians
The stay was relaxing and we really enjoyed the break away from our busy household
The hotel needs a lot of paint work ie inside corridors going up the stairs and on the corridors going to the rooms . Can not get any internet connection anywhere in the building.
I really enjoyed my stay here
Just wished i had longer
Clean room, great bed and bathroom facilities
Tea and coffee
Just what you need
This is a budget hotel and youget what you pay for. Saying that, this place exceeded expectations. We had a biggish room with everything required bar a fridge.
The room was pretty warm but a good fan was provided.
We were woken by a 5am alarm caused by some idiot smoking.
The buffet breakfast lacked variety but was ok.
All the staff we lovely and the only unpleasantness was with a few guests who should maybe pay a little more. Rudeness to overseas staff isn't acceptable in my book and Brittania might consider racists.
The parking is nightmare! Why should you have to pay? We stayed for 4 days and did not see anyone cleaning. The facilities is terrible. Would not return. The bed is very uncomfortable.
The hotel was clean and tidy with a bath and over bath shower the bed was comfy breakfast was very good the staff where brilliant and very polite will not hesitate to go there again thank you
Cheap and cheerful
The flooring in our bathroom was not pleasant making the rooms smell of urine. It was a bit too warm even with windows open . Bed mattress quite hard. The entrance carpet along with the stairwell carpet lets the hotel down however cleanliness was good in most areas. Paid £18 to park at BIC
Overall good value for money the room smelt of clean when entered. The staff polite some can say too polite yes value for money.
Hotel was ok but 3 with same name was confusing.room was ok. Went to bar for drink having had meal elsewhere, and it was chaos there were children running riot !! Amanager had words and it eased off but they closed the bar early as a result which was disappointing , felt sorry for barman he didnt know what was going on and obviously didnt have any backup as was probably nervous of reaction to children being reprimanded so left it. People who behave like ths ruin it for the rest of us and should be removed we all paid money out so should be able enjoy our stay without any problems, unfotunately whn bookings are made you cant see whos booking ,these people know that as they lnow would not be accepted and rightly so !! I left a dress behind and went back to see if it was still there, luckily it was, manager kindly let me go to lost property and look for myself which i appreciated, they were nice on reception and decent about parking which was horrendous due to lack of space and there being a festival on and bank holiday with lovely weather as well lots of people about so on the hole experience not too bad ,cant choose their guests so not their fault
.
Nice service
I have just spent the weekend at the britannia hotel, and i must say i was not impressed, i paid £500 and it definitely was not £500 worth. The shower was so hot on the coldest setting that it burned so much and was unenjoyable. The toilet flush was permanently pushed in and hard to flush therefore i snapped my nail off doing so. The floor wasn’t very well hoovered, there was no bath mat to put on the floor, and the room absolutely stank of stale cigarettes and the furniture was dirty. This is absolutely ridiculous and i refuse to pay £500 for this. I am requesting something to be done about this. Please email me - demi.maloney22@gmail.com
Initially we thought that the hotel was pretty standard for a budget hotel and that things would be fine. There is very little information available about the hotel in general for example had no info regarding when last check in would be and no one would answer the phone when tried to find out. We then get to our room and again everything is a little run down however we weren’t expecting amazing things. We get into bed and there is a pair of someone else’s boxers tucked between the mattress and the side of the bed. My boyfriend went to reception to complain about this and they said they would check with house keeping. After they spoke to house keeping they then proceeded to tell us that we were lying and that there were no boxers there, they refused to give any sort of compensation for this and also didn’t clean the room after we had found them, I have attached a picture of said boxers and could honestly say to anyone do not waste your money staying here it was horrendous overall and the front desk staff were very rude and unhelpful throughout our whole stay. There was no apology at all for having some random persons boxers In our bed and after finding those we were scared to think what else could be in the room and how dirty it must be.
It was clean and well managed in a great location but with slightly didnot meet my expectations as compared to the price. esp lifts are too tiny.
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Would of been better if we could of checked in earlier, this was not an option, which is a shame as 4pm is quite late. Staff were friendly. Location is fantastic, short walk to beach and town. Swimming pool was not available, again a shame as it would of been nice to use it.
Major problem was the parking, it was horrendous! Parked at the sister hotel, which was down the road. Was lucky to get a space as that was also full. Went out in the car for the day, returned and there was no parking available at either hotel. Paid for 4 days only parked for 3. Found a space on the road, free 5pm-9am. Decided to leave it on the road and paid for the hours that weren't free, £8.
Would possibly stay again as the hotel was adequate for the price paid, however the parking is a major issue.
When I was booking this hotel I saw nice pictures of the room, tidy, clean….and the price seemed fair. On arrival I could not believe what I saw. This building is falling apart. I wanted to run away but it was to late for me to cancel and I thought “ ok, maybe it will not be that bad” , walked in, checked in - girl at the reception was friendly.Got room on 4th floor so used the lift. Jesus, that lift was made for some tiny people. If you are claustrophobic don’t use it. Finally got to the room - omg the smell of sweat killed me! The furniture was ugly, dated and damaged! Chair was ripped and broken and there was hideous picture on the wall… I think prisoners got better cells. Bathroom was ok except there was some hair on the towel. Good I had my own towel with me. At night someone was making so much noise, it was so hard to get any sleep. Banging on the wall, at some point I thought someone is fighting in the kitchen throwing things around. Walls are so thin I could hear everything. Overall my stay at the hotel was horrible and will never book this hotel again. Also I have parked my car at hotel car park and guess what … my car ended up with a nice scratch on the side! The only good thing was that the hotel is quiet close to the beach.
Was a cracking stay in Bournemouth this hotel was a minute walk from the beach! Friendly staff and good service! Room was good! You get what you pay for!!
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The parking was an absolute joke no where near enough parking spaces for the amount of rooms. The bed was like sleeping on a slab of concrete, all the carpets needs ripping up & replaced as they were so discussing & dirty. No hand soap in the bathroom (we have just come out if a pandemic & hand washing is important). Rooms needs a bigger TV.
