Spark by Hilton Redlands

This was one of the most frustrating and dishonest hotel experiences I’ve ever had. After I checked out, I was blindsided with a $100 charge for “damages” to the room—damages that I did not cause and that were never mentioned during my stay or at checkout.

Let’s be clear: this feels like a blatant cash grab. The room was left in completely normal condition, and there were zero issues raised while I was there. Only after I left did they suddenly decide to tack on an extra fee with no warning, no explanation, and no credible evidence.

When I contacted the hotel to dispute the charge, I got vague, generic responses and absolutely no proof to justify it. No photos, no documentation—nothing. Just “trust us,” which is unacceptable when you’re taking money from a guest.

This kind of behavior is completely unprofessional and undermines any trust a customer should have. It gives the impression that this hotel is willing to make up charges and hope guests won’t fight back.

Do yourself a favor: if you stay here, document everything. Take photos, videos—whatever you need—because apparently that’s the only way to protect yourself from being hit with bogus fees after the fact.

I will not be returning, and I strongly recommend others think twice before booking here unless they’re comfortable risking surprise charges with no accountability.

Simple yet cozy hotel with friendly staff and free parking. Room was spacious, quote and clean. Staff were all awesome. Overall a great hotel.

Horrible place to stay why?
The service is horrible
The breakfast is bagels and cereal not hot as advertised
The walls are super thin you can hear everything.
The AC is off and on all night
The bed is hard
There is a homeless tent outside our window and they were fighting over drugs all night .

I’ll start with good parts, The room was nice sized and overall the place was clean. The bad parts, there is a sign in the lobby that says you get maid service every other day, we were okay with that. On the second day we stopped be the desk and was told that maid service was every third day. Bottom line, we were there for four days and never got maid service. The feee breakfast was as bare boned as I’ve ever seen. Four cereals in those big dispensers, vanilla yogurt from a dispenser,cheap bagels and muffins, watered down orange juice, and coffee.
I paid for the hotel by points so I can’t say “you get what you pay for”, and perhaps the rates are cheap I would not know.
I will also add that the staff were friendly and polite. But I probably won’t come back

room was great

The hotel was fabulous!! The area was so nice, there is a spaghetti factory across the street and downtown Redlands is minutes away. The room was so clean, big and the beds were so comfortable. I loved this hotel is not even expensive. The staff was so friendly! I actually forgot my boots in the room and the front desk kept them for me.

Inexpensive. And attentive customer service. But the place is filthy. Carpets are stained throughout the property and they desperately need cleaning. Someone ought to buy a new vacuum as well. Won’t go back.

Nice property easily accessible from interstate. Unfortunately road noise in room was less than ideal. Room was spacious. Employees ranged from incredibly friendly to mildly disinterested. Ongoing construction was slightly inconvenient but not terrible. I was excited to see a brand new Peloton in fitness room but unfortunately it wasn’t properly set up for use when I was there

Very comfortable beds. The place is newly renovated and it shows. Very nice, good value for the price. Needs a couple of charging stations though.

Quick and easy close to the freeway witch was great

Their system went out and they wanted cash payment and deposit instead. They cancelled reservation and I had to spend time online to request for a refund. Hotels.com staff tried contacting them and will make attempts again.

The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Hotel staff were friendly and very helpful. I will definitely be staying there again in the future.
