Some parts of hotel very tired in desperate need of repair or replace. I believe a refurbishment is imminent, not before time. Staff are good but not sure at the moment that it represents value for money. All felt slightly disjointed, some areas neglected.
very friendly warm welcome
comfy clean room
gorgeous grounds
The staff were all very friendly, welcoming and attentive. Dinner & breakfast were excellent with clear gluten free options.
Great Hotel in a beautiful area of Suffolk. My kids both took bikes and loved cycling all around the grounds. The restaurant is super expensive for average food and I did not enjoy having a service charge added to my bill. I will be staying at the hotel again though. It’s a great family weekend break.
Great location for historical hotel but the room was quite basic for what was supposed to be deluxe, although spacious enough and our first night was spoilt by the window having a thin plastic sheet placed along the lower quarter (to allow a portable air conditioning unit to vent), which meant the wind could penetrate and the sound of rain was amplified.
First class staff at reception - helpful and friendly - lovely room and breakfast. Thank you
Lovely setting as part of a national trust estate
Very nice guest areas for relaxing and dining nice indoor pool
Excellent all round
Lovely warm pool, delightful surroundings and very pleasant staff!
We had a very enjoyable short break at The Ickworth. The room was very comfy and breakfast excellent. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Will definitely go back again sometime when we can.
Excellent rooms. Very comfortable. All staff very helpful. Breakfast quite sibstantial
Very pleasant overnight stay
Amazing hotel - we had such a fabulous and relaxing stay, although brief - thank you so much to all the great professional and friendly staff
Wonderful hotel, staff, and food. Very friendly service. Great food for dinner and breakfast. Even reasonably priced. Walking the grounds in the morning before day visitors arrive was incredibly scenic and relaxing. Room was very comfortable and well appointed (appreciate Nespresso machine!)
The hotel is located in the wonderful setting of Ickworth Park. Lots of fantastic walks and no traffic to disturb the tranquility of the countryside.
We usually stay in the Premier Inn in Bury St Edmunds when visiting our son but, surprisingly, that chain is now outpricing itself against much more superior hotels such as this one.
The bedroom retained all its charm of a bygone age including what appeared to be some of the original antique furniture. We had a wonderful view overlooking the gardens.
Breakfast was excellent. Plentiful parking.
Highly recommended.
Beautiful setting. Really friendly staff.. Good Breakfast.. Plenty of parking space.. Only downside, I could hear my neighbours TV. I don’t know if they were slightly deaf or the walls are thin….
Stunning setting in the heart of the Ickworth estate
We loved it! Definitely will be going back for another stay.
Stunning place and scenery
Pool area
Character of buildings were beautiful but condition of interior needs attention
