We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary...everything was great
Enjoyable one night stay. Great grounds to walk around.
The Reception staff were excellent. They were bubbly, friendly & helpful.
The room was on the first floor and was very clean. The bed was comfy.
Beautiful setting.
Due to the cost, I would have expected there to be biscuits in the room.
There no information in the room to tell you what facilities were available on site or what food was available in the bar or restaurant.
Alot of the decor was shabby, definitely needs a good painting / tidying up.
The staff member that met me at the door to take me to the restaurant for breakfast was pleasant and smiley. As for the other males in the restaurant, no smiles, looked like they were there under duress! The lady in the food room smiled & said hello.
Lastly, there was a wedding in the main building. I didn't get the best nights sleep as the wedding guests were so noisy when returning to their rooms. One was singing at the top of his voice. Another group were in the car park outside my room window having a full blown conversation late in the evening.
Then to top it all, a delivery van arrived at 7.25am, parked under the room window and unloaded. Which wasn't quiet as it was cages being unloaded.
I was disappointed as I was hoping for a peaceful early evening.
First visit to this historic hotel which is set in beautiful grounds. We stayed in a dog friendly room which was perfect and enjoyed drinks and dinner on the terrace overlooking the gardens. Breakfast was a buffet with plenty of choice. Staff were friendly and professional. Plenty of car parking and lovely walks around the grounds.
Just a great place to stay. The building is wonderful, the bedrooms comfortable, the staff friendly and competent. Good value weekend rates. Food good but more choice would be nice.
This is a beautiful hotel, I visited with my partner for a weekend in 2022, but my daughter and I stayed her for 3 individual nights over the last month (for a local exam centre) I am glad I booked here, rather than our alternative of a travel lodge, there wasn't much difference in price and I made good use of the leisure facilities. Would definitely return or recommend.
Love the look of the place and that generally its quiet
We had a stard double...would've preferred the same room with a King.
I understand you want to attract dog owners..but a dog barking at 8 am on our day off is annoying.
There was no water or wipes in the fitness room.
There was a large group of guest in the other dining room...so there was a big wait for them for breakfast..
Staying at The New Place on a cruise and stay package. Really good value for money, lovely room and delicious food. Add to that the attentive, well mannered staff. Our evening meal tonight was served by Oren, who was charming. He was friendly and professional, as are all the staff we've met. Can recommend The New Place 100%. Many thanks to Oren for his professional service.
The hotel was like a motel with small rooms. Even the main building was lacking anywhere to sit other than a lifeless bar.
