The grounds and main house were beautiful. Pool area very nice. Access to grass for dog very good.
Disappointed in room size for price. Evening meal, disappointing, my husband's meal very small portions for price. Breakfast, every morning something would not be available, had to ask for a tray to carry our food to the bar area. Cheapest sliced bread and tinned fruit.
Fantastic food as usual, for ease they have now combined the bar and restaurant menus which is brilliant - i don't want a burger but my daughter declared it the best ever! Having stayed in a few hotels in other places, i realise that the New Place Hotel is country miles better than the rest. If you.are a foodiie you will love it here. It is also very easy to feel at home at the new place , when you stay there it becomes your place.
The breakfasts tick the box well enough but they don't quite wow like the dinners.

The rooms are just are not cleaned correctly . The back of the bathroom door was filthy . There was black spots all over the bathroom ceiling the sealant needs replacing around the bath . There were cobwebs around the ceiling and top of bedside lights . There was a dirty foot print on the wall by the bed. There was a large crack in the glass top on the furniture . The paintwork needs updating . The window frames need replacing as the condensation is terrible . Shower curtain so long it is a bit dangerous . Carpet needs a good clean. The whole building is just getting tired and needs updating . Being on the ground floor ment we didnt hear the mice in the roof this time .
Its such a good location and the main building is stunning but the separate accommodation needs a lot of work.
The location was really nice, and coudnt really fault the breakfast.
The room allocated was small, and tired. The decor needed a serious refreshn the carpets were worn. It was a very expensive stay for what i considered to be a low grade room. We'd asked for an extra duvet which reception had promise, but didn't deliver, we had to chase them up. Didnt feel like a guest, more of an inconvenient visitor.

Not enough staff to cope with ordinary guests and coach parties staying. Arrangements for breakfast were shambolic for flow and replenishing of food.
Breakfast was lovely even though we were told wrong time they finish serving but they still let us in and didn't rush us.
Bar ti open later as wasn't busy they closed the bar.
Staff very friendly, location nice and quiet, room basic, but clean, good tea and coffee, great bathroom, fan in room (was very hot) great stopover for cruising from Southampton.
Parking spaces filled up quickly, but we managed to find something. We didn't eat at hotel,was didn't fancy anything on menu (limited) but be aware, everything shuts down early in area for food!

Lovely hotel great staff especially Isie & Sarah not sure if that’s her name she was dressed all in black & in charge on Sunday evening. Both great customer service thank you.
My meal was burnt & potatoes were cold it should never have been sent out from the Kitchen however the lovely lady in charge explained the head chef was off. She would report it back to him and took the price of my meal off the bill. She couldn’t have been nicer so it would not put us off of eating there again. My husband‘s meal was quite nice..
Also no slimline tonic this needs addressing never been to a hotel who doesn’t supply light tonics!!!
