The room was spacious and larger than we expected, which was a positive aspect of our stay. Unfortunately, the room size was overshadowed by several serious concerns regarding cleanliness, the strong smell of cigarette smoke, and the lack of proper assistance from the hotel staff.

Cons:

We were very disappointed with our stay at Hyatt House Mount Laurel. We arrived on a Friday night during heavy rain, and it was already difficult to locate our room. When we finally entered, my husband immediately noticed that the TV was already on, giving us the impression that someone may have recently been in the room. More concerning was the very strong smell of cigarette smoke.

The hotel had been informed that we would be staying with a toddler and an infant, so finding a room with such a strong smoke odor was particularly upsetting. We called the front desk to report the issue and request assistance, but we were told that the manager would be informed. No room change or other meaningful solution was offered. Given the pouring rain and the difficulty of locating the room in the first place, the situation was especially frustrating.

The cleanliness of the room was also unacceptable. The carpet appeared not to have been properly vacuumed, and we found a pair of someone else’s socks underneath a chair in the living area. This raised serious concerns about whether the room had been thoroughly cleaned before our arrival.

The following morning, my husband noticed what appeared to be a cigarette burn on the bedsheet in the area where he had slept. It had been concealed beneath the blanket, so we had not noticed it when we first entered the room. This was another disturbing discovery, especially considering the strong smoke odor we had already reported.

We reported our concerns again on Saturday morning, but we did not feel that our complaints were properly documented or taken seriously. We were repeatedly told that the manager would be informed, yet no one offered a satisfactory explanation, a meaningful resolution, or even an apology. We received no alternative accommodation or follow-up from management.

Breakfast was acceptable, but the gluten-free options were very limited for guests with gluten sensitivity or dietary restrictions.

I usually do not have a problem with the Hyatt but this was poor for the price.
Cons:

Unfortunately, the bed wasn’t comfortable and the sofa bed was also very uncomfortable and sagging in.
The cabinet in the kitchen was falling off its hinge and the bathroom cabinet handle was also broken.

Pros:

Didn’t care for the breakfast too much, cooked my own breakfast, glad it hsd a kitchen, other than that, carpet filthy need shampooing, housekeeping terrible, receptionist very distespectful except for the spanish lady, outside property is filthy, no elevator, elderly all the Way on the 3rd floor

We would definitely stay again but only if we were guaranteed a first floor room.
Pros:

The room was spacious, well appointed, quiet and comfortable.
Breakfast was nice each day with a great attention to detail.

Cons:

A couple of items in need of repair in the room but nothing that impeded our stay.
Pool could have been opened past Labor Day as the weather was in the eighties and it just needed the management approval.
While we were fortunate enough to get a first floor room, I would not have stayed if we were on the second or third floor as this property is an exterior walk up with no elevators.
