Very well maintained property comfortable bed and quiet.
TV remote didn’t work
Overall the property has beautiful character, a lovely story and great history.
Loved the polish map on site, staff were excellent in general but also in directing us here.
Breakfast buffet options were great!
The pool and sauna area roof needs attention, you can see the mould and holes.
Evening dinner portions did not match pricing we felt this could have been more filling.
Pubic hairs found in toilet and bed would have preferred if this was clean especially in a 4 star.
We booked the night before we arrived and had a little adventure finding our way around the hotel corridors & the lovely grounds.
Staff ranged from friendly & welcoming to some less so. Rooms comfortable and clean, restaurant dinner was great with some tasty options. Breakfast was a standard hotel chain self service buffet of continental & cooked options, plenty for all.
We discovered the Great Polish Map of Scotland that was created in the grounds by a previous owner/manager which is definitely worth a little walk to see. A huge, outdoor, three-dimensional concrete model of Scotland, showing its landscape, mountains and lochs

Who new the geological map of Scotland was in the hotel grounds, a nice surprise in a walk around the large grounds. My room was quiet, breakfast had a lot of selection. What a lovely building to stay in.
Large car park, but parking was tight and quite full. Got lost finding my room through all the corridors but worked it out. The signage was a little odd in the room but ok.
The outside from the hotel looks very nice.
The dinner is reasonable okay, and so is breakfast.
Also the staff was very helpful.
Inside the place needs to be refurbished, looks dated/worn out wherever you are in the hotel. It also gives you zero impression from the inside that you are in a Castle environment, could be any hotel.
The bathrooms are too old, paint coming off etc. needs to be redone.
The bed in room 211 was terrible, I could feel the spirals coming through.
The so called Leisure Club is in a poor state, better to close it for now.
Overall disappointing stay for us.
