A masterclass in brand dilution
Pros:

Rating: 3/10

My family and I stayed here in room 1413 (a "One Bedroom Oceanfront Balcony Suite") for one night in May 2026.

Positives:
• The location is undeniably strong. Sitting directly across from the ocean, the hotel delivers the one thing that cannot be renovated or rebranded. Our room’s balcony offered a sweeping view of the beach, and it was easily the best part of the stay.
• The air conditioning worked flawlessly. In South Florida, that is not a trivial detail. The room stayed consistently cool, which ended up being more memorable than many of the hotel’s supposed luxury touches.
• The Ritz-Carlton name still carries weight. Walking into the property, the branding creates an expectation of quality and professionalism. Unfortunately, much of the experience that followed struggled to live up to the logo on the building.

Negatives:
• The room felt tired and overdue for a refresh. Beige marble, worn carpeting, and stained surfaces gave the impression of a hotel that had been coasting on its address and brand for far too long.
• When I filled the bathtub for my daughter, the water came out with a noticeable yellow-green tint. That is not something you expect at any hotel, let alone one charging Ritz-Carlton rates. It immediately raised questions I would rather not have had to ask.
• We arrived around 11 p.m. and were greeted by… nobody. As we wrestled luggage through the entrance and held doors open ourselves, there was no doorman, no welcome, and no sense that anyone was paying attention. It was an inauspicious start.
• Late-night dining consisted of a grab-and-go market rather than room service. We picked up two wraps that managed to be both soggy and forgettable. After a long travel day, it felt less like a luxury hotel and more like an airport convenience store.
• When we requested bedding for the sofa bed, we were handed a stack of sheets and blankets and left to assemble it ourselves. The employee may have been trying to expedite things, but making your own pullout bed is not an experience I associate with the Ritz-Carlton brand.
• At roughly $1,400 per night during Fort Lauderdale’s slower season, the value proposition simply was not there. Luxury hotels do not need to be perfect, but they should at least feel luxurious.
• The biggest issue is that nearly every disappointment could have been forgiven if this were an ordinary beachfront hotel. It is not. It carries the Ritz-Carlton flag. By the end of the stay, I was left wondering whether Ritz-Carlton leadership has visited this property recently, or whether I need to fundamentally recalibrate what the brand is supposed to represent in 2026.

40th anniversary done well
Pros:

My husband and I just celebrated our 40th anniversary at this lovely hotel. Everything about the stay was perfect. The hero of the trip was Mr. Reuben Trane, a key manager at this beautiful property. He made sure we had a nice corner room for our stay, sent some treats to our room and as a surprise framed a photo of us to enjoy during our stay. We enjoyed meeting Reuben and thanking him personally. Valuable managers like Reuben move a good trip to a fantastic trip category. I wish there were a ten rating TripAdvisor! Other employees that stood out were Tamisha and Travis at the front desk and Johnathon and Juan who were the pool attendants. Andrea, in the front office, was also very helpful. The rooms are beautiful and clean. Everything was in working order. The food was very good and we enjoyed the morning coffee and oranges in the lobby along with fruit infused water. The pool area was crowded over the Memorial Day holiday yet the pool staff made sure everyone could find a seat. The beach attendants were very helpful as well yet we loved the beach view from the pool deck. The location of the hotel is nice as there is a natural flat walking area right outside the door. Don’t miss this property. We didn’t visit the spa or fitness center; however, I know the Ritz also sets the standard in this area. We will be make for sure. Thank you Reuben and staff for making our time special. We even added another night!

Great location, awesome staff, fantastic hospitality
Pros:

The location is unbeatable, offering immediate access to the beach and picturesque morning views over the ocean. While the proximity to the water is spectacular, the service is what truly defines the experience. Front Desk Manager Reuben Trane was exceptional. Despite our brief two-night stay, our family had highly complex scheduling needs. Reuben handled every request effortlessly, displaying a warm smile and a genuinely helpful attitude throughout. It is hospitality of this caliber that solidifies our loyalty to the Ritz-Carlton brand.

Choose another Hotel
Pros:

Very "old" Ritz, not what you expect. My grievances:

1) Hotel is used and old
2) Receptionist dont care baout your status. Early check-in, forget it. They are trying to help but it seemed that they are incompetent to even get you a downgraded room in early check-in.
3) Room-service is unreliable and calling front office wont help. They will just let the phone ring.

Amazing Concierges and Staff
Pros:

I had an amazing stay at the Ritz Carlton Fort Lauderdale in early May 2026. The property is clean and the staff is wonderful, attentive but not intrusive. My stay was made even better by the two knowledgable and professional concierges Carmen Meza and Oscar Smith! Both Carmen and Oscar were helpful and went above and beyond to make my stay special. I cannot thank the staff enough. I was so tired from the brutal northeast winter when I arrived at the Ritz. I left relaxed, renewed, and feeling blessed by the kindness and old world attention to detail provided by the staff at this property.

Awesome stay
Pros:

We decided come back to RC Fort Lauderdale prior to our cruise from Fort Lauderdale.
Despite the busy weekend because of the Tortuga Mussic Festival the hotel was an oasis to come back to. The swift check-in and reception from Andrea and Monty was very appreciated. We were very early and our room was not ready but we could wait in the Club Lounge which we booked.
This Club Lounge is very well managed by Rueben. This weekend also started their collaboration with Gibson Guitars. It was nice to see Rueben’s passion and enthousiasm for music and guitars. In the evening there were some guitar players, a nice extra touch! Foodpresentations very nice as was service from Robert, Maria and all others in Club.
Despite being Ambassaador member with Marriott Bonvoy no upgrade whatsoever but we loved the room!
On the morning of departure we had an litlle incident which we mentioned to Rueben and hopefully he took care of it that it will never happen again to other guest. This hotel will definetly be our number one choice when coming back to Fort Lauderdale

Oscar and the Ritz - a wonderful anniversary celebration
Pros:

From arrival to departure, our week+ stay at the Ft Lauderdale Ritz-Carlton was fabulous. The location, amenities and Burlock Coast restaurant are great. We had a few meals at the restaurant and the food was outstanding. The rum room dining experience was well worth the money.

We want to thank Oscar Smith, Concierge for his over the top service. We were in contact with him weeks before our arrival and he had everything arranged for us beautifully.

Oscar’s assistance (and chocolate chip cookies) made our stay so special!

Here’s a photo of our suite on the ship, post stay, with our Ritz Carlton notes!

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED
Pros:

We recently stayed at the The Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale and unfortunately, it was a major disappointment—especially given the price point and the brand’s reputation.

For context, we typically stay at the Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach, which we absolutely love. Since the Ritz-Carlton was actually more expensive, we assumed it would be equal or better. That was not the case.

From the moment we arrived, things felt off. We had to carry our own luggage up stairs, which is not what you expect at this level. Our reservation—booked through American Express Concierge—was also incorrect. They had us booked twice for the same night instead of two consecutive nights. While the hotel acknowledged we were staying two nights, they pushed the responsibility back onto American Express to fix it, leaving us stuck in the middle with no clarity.

The room itself was underwhelming, but worse, when we arrived there was a large puddle of water on the carpet. We had to switch rooms immediately, which was frustrating after a long day of travel. No compensation or acknowledgment of the inconvenience was offered.

Service throughout the stay was inconsistent. The next day, after being out all morning, we returned to find our room hadn’t been cleaned. When we called, we were told it was because the system didn’t show us staying the second night—despite the extensive conversation at check-in. This turned into nearly two hours of back-and-forth between the hotel and American Express, with each blaming the other. As the guest, you’re left completely in the dark while both sides expect you to somehow understand and resolve their internal issues.

What stood out most was the lack of ownership or care from management. When we expressed frustration, the focus remained on the reservation issue—not on the guest experience. There was no meaningful apology, no effort to make things right, and not even a small gesture like a complimentary drink or credit.

To add to the frustration, room service was both outrageously expensive and extremely disappointing. A very basic breakfast—eggs, bacon, toast, plus a smoothie and an orange juice—came to $130. Not only was the price excessive, but the food itself was unacceptable. Everything arrived cold. The toast was so cold you couldn’t even spread butter on it, the eggs were cold, and overall nothing tasted good.

Even beyond these issues, the property itself does not feel like a Ritz-Carlton. The outdoor furniture was plastic, and overall the hotel felt more like a three-star experience than a luxury one.

This property does not live up to the Ritz-Carlton name, and unfortunately, we will not be returning.

The PITTS Carlton!!
Pros:

More like the Pitts Carlton. If you enjoy walking into a “Club Lounge” where the staff are the most uninviting, unengaging, unfriendly people, this is the place for you! When the only engagement is “room number” without even making eye contact is the standard, you need to remove the Ritz Carlton branding from your property! The slop they serve in here is almost inedible.
If you enjoy listening to housekeeping yelling and arguing with each other in the hallways at all hours, this is the place for you!
When you have to ask for your packages 5 f’in times before they bring it to you, this is the place for you.
The hallways are like meat lockers! I would love to know what they are paying to keep them so cold. Perhaps thats why they are charging the insane rates they do for a Holiday Inn experience.
Whoever is running this property should be embarrassed of themselves.
Good riddance!!

Pros:

Ooooof. Lordy leave your expectations of Ritz behind. This one is a Marriott 3 star at best masquerading as a Ritz. Unceasing noise from room above but a frat party next door at 1:30 am. The Spring Break morons partying on Daddy and Mummy's dime. Front Desk was in no rush to close the party down. Housekeeping is a disaster - cleaned room and left behind NO tissues and NO toilet paper. Also ignored note for extra towels. Did leave behind 3 rags on the coffee bar though. Asked for some wine glasses and a cork screw - finally aerrived 45 mins later. The first floor bar looking out over the beach serves wine out of a carafe. The ONLY worthwhile thing at this "Ritz" is the pool staff - from set up guys to servers - everyone has a positive attitude and service is great. Much nicer Bar and they serve Cakebread Cab by the glass! I'm thinking this spot caters to the Ritz residents - but who in their right mind would EVER buy into a mediocre Ritz in Fort Lauderdale?

An absolutely perfect stay.
Pros:

My husband and I are enjoying day 3 of our 5 day stay here at the Ritz-Carlton and we want to say how absolutely perfect our stay here has been. We are in a king bed, ocean view room and it is beautiful, clean, comfortable and elegant. The staff at the hotel - from the management to the wait staff, to the attendants at the beach (BeeGee and Dillon), to the attendants at the pool (Jimmy), to the maid staff, to room service - everyone has been so accommodating and polite and helpful.
The amenities are excellent. The beach is easily accessible to the hotel and we have really appreciated the chairs and umbrellas and cabanas. The pool is beautiful and clean and the attendants immediately make sure that you are comfortable. We enjoyed using the gym this morning and my husband and I found everything that we could want and all of the equipment was in excellent shape.

We are absolutely delighted and have no complaints at all.
