over all review base on my and experience I'm very satisfied staying in this hotel, the ambinace, the catering department and the reception department they are so polite ang respectful and they are alwast there to assist you once you need them or you need something. food was so delicious, room is very clean and I love the atmosphere so quit and relax. it's very recommneded to my family and friends. job well done to the management and to all staff.

location in center of balikpapan, rooms cozy, foods really good, services excellent even tho iam locals here 10/10 would come visit later

My room was very comfortable and clean.
The buffet breakfast was lovely. Very comprehensive in its selection with Indonesian, Asian and western cuisines. Staff are very friendly and every Sunday morning they have a tradional musican perform which was very smoothing and lovely to listen too while having a coffee.

The Novotel Hotel is located within the city closer to a number of shopping malls. There are a lot of grab cars and bluebird taxis within reach should you need a ride. The streets are safe to walk around especially if you're a foreigner. The people are very friendly, courteous and some of the most respectful human beings on earth. It's a slow pace of life out here on Balikpapan, not like what you'd expect in the big cities. The food is rich and authentic in flavor and you can grab a whole vibe of Indonesian including Asian cuisines when you stay at Novotel. I tell you their buffets are like nothing I've ever come across, they're hearty and it's just so many to choose from. Rooms are clean and spacious, housekeeping do a great job daily to keep your rooms clean. There's no need to worry about your valuables if you don't lock them away, they'll still be left untouched when you get back. There's a deep rich culture and value of respect that's built into the heart and soul of every Indonesian/Balikpapan, hence you will not find any theft of misplaced items in your rooms. The staff are friendly and great to assist, always reach out to them. English is not their main language but they try their very best to communicate, use Google translate if common English words are difficult to understand. The hotel surrounding is quite serene and quiet all day. It's also a reflection of the deep rich cultures and the Balikpapan way of life. They're mostly very quiet and humbled folks yet some of the most kindest, respectful and courteous people on earth. From the potters and concierge staff to housekeeping and restaurant team, everyone works together in harmony to make your stay comfortable. You are treated with the utmost respect. When you're there and require any assistance, ask for Aknofa whose very well acquainted with English. You get value for your money when choose to stay at the Novotel

Zeezicht vanuit kamer, op loopafstand van winkels, restaurants (pasar malam op pleintje in de straat), zee. Fijn bed. Speels ontwerp badkamer-en-suite met groot raam.
Onderhoud laat te wensen over! Slecht werkende airco. Zwembad liet men zo vies worden dat er groene/bruine troep in dreef en het meerdere dagen onbruikbaar was. Geen adequate reactie en oplossing vanuit personeel bij bovenstaande! Onbetrouwbare roomservice.
