Hard to find with rent a car GPS
The room and staff
Couldn’t help it but the entrance to the parking area was built over a century ago for horses, thus, there was only a couple of inches space on each side of the car when going through the arch. I had to get my wife out to help direct me through. I recommend you doing the same.
Great little inn and pub with kind staff that made you feel like family. Room was comfy and nicely appointed to make settling in easy.
Breakfast was included and very fresh generous offerings with nice variety. Pub was a great mix of regulars and travelers which created a really fun vibe and it was very dog friendly ! Just perfect way to end the day!

I happen to arrive on. One of the hottest days of the year and obviously it’s an old building so the room was quite hot.
Fantastic location, and excellent value for stay in the heart of the Cotswolds. The staff were very kind and friendly. It was convenient to have parking on site. They provided a fan for the room when we asked. Breakfast was fairly standard full English and continental - nice that it was included. We didn’t get to try the pub as it closed before we got home for the evening.
The white woodwork around the doors in our bedroom / bathroom needed to be cleaned. It was brown with fingerprints. But the rest of the room was very clean. And honestly, I would still stay there again if I needed a reasonably priced room in that location.

So much to like about this hotel! Firstly there was parking - a real bonus. The hotel had lots of character. The room was lovely - light, quiet, plenty of room, comfortable bed, good shower, big fluffy towels. The staff were super friendly. The food was excellent with a freshly cooked full English - no buffet bain-maries here, HURRAH!
Only thing was that there was nowhere to put shampoo, soap etc inside the shower. Everything else was excellent.
Historic and characterful hotel.
Unfortunately, it’s age meant there was no air conditioning so, in a heat wave, up in an attic room even with a fan we were sweltering and couldn’t sleep.

Staff were super friendly and helpful. I loved that the windows in my room were left open, the room was clean and cozy.
Staff were great at explaining amenities, how breakfast would be served, and the food and beverages were great
Someone outside my window at 5:30am was messing with glass bottles. I'm not sure if this was someone at the hotel putting recycling bins out, or bin pick up but it was loud enough to wake me.
Lovely staff, good breakfast, there were fans in the rooms.
The carpets felt dated

Bed was erg hard, na klacht geen verbetering, manager alsmaar ‘afwezig’. We zijn hierdoor een dag eerder vertrokken, geen gesprek mogelijk over evt. vergoeding hiervoor aan ons. De kamer was bovendien veel te warm en erg slecht toegankelijk met allerlei trapjes, totaal verouderd en slecht onderhouden gebouw.
Heel slecht ontbijt.
Customer service
Disabled person unable to park, room windows no security to open windows at night to let air in this weather. Why you give a kettle that needs 10 people and will not fit in the sink??????
