Disappointing handling of missing personal item
Pros:

I rarely write negative reviews, but I feel it’s important to share my experience at Ten Hill Place Hotel in Edinburgh so other travelers can make an informed decision.

During my stay, a personal clothing item went missing immediately after housekeeping serviced my room. My stay was still ongoing at the time, and the item had not been packed away in my luggage.

Although the item was low in monetary value, it had sentimental value to me. When I reported the issue, the hotel stated they had investigated and could not locate the item. What was disappointing was that no apology or acknowledgement of the situation was offered at any stage.

Instead, I was advised that I should file a police report for the missing item in order to obtain a crime reference number for insurance. Given the circumstances, a low-value item that disappeared during housekeeping service, this felt like a disproportionate response rather than a sincere effort to resolve the concern.
What made the situation frustrating was not the missing item itself, but the lack of empathy or accountability in the way it was handled.

I tried to resolve the matter privately before posting this review, but unfortunately the response I received left me feeling dismissed rather than supported as a guest.

For travelers, trust matters. When your room is serviced by hotel staff, you expect your belongings to be safe and that any issues will be handled respectfully.

Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.

Solo exploration of Edinburgh
Pros:

My first trip to Scotland, and in this case Edinburgh, was the best ever thanks to the hospitality of Jonathon, Mark and the team at Ten Hill Place.
As somebody who has worked my whole life in hospitality, This place - and more specifically - the team, are top tier.
If anybody has any hesitations, eradicate them and book up. You will not be disappointed.
Sadly home now, I am already missing the beauty, magic and memories of such an amazing city.

Superb hotel,value for money
Pros:

Bright and clean, really comfy beds and excellent buffet breakfast, quiet area with lots of restaurants nearby, in particular Ciao Roma which is the best Italian restaurant we’ve been to and only around the corner from the hotel. This was our third stay at this hotel and we love it.

Cons:

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like.

Great location for city tour. Excellent staff.
Pros:

An excellent hotel. Immaculately clean with excellent facilities and amenities with a lovely atmosphere. Room was spotless. Rooms were very quiet.
The staff were great, very friendly and nice. They also saved our trip home when they returned our forgotten passports before we left the hotel for airport.
Location is very handy for walking to city centre and main attractions.

I would come back. Cleaning needs a little attention
Pros:

I loved this hotel, the room was lovely, spacious with an ideal layout with USB port next to the bed, coffee and tea making facilities as well as an iron, hairdryer, fridge and a safe. The bed was super comfy.

Cons:

A couple of things I did notice was not cleaned properly was toothpaste spit-back near the sink more so on the wall when we arrived. Sides of bed dusty and not kept and the safe failed to work with my passport in there twice.

Excellent hotel would defiantly stay again.
Pros:

Excellent location near to all the attractions . Clean and modern hotel with friendly attentive staff. The twin room and bathroom very spacious and breakfast was great.

Cons:

We didn't eat dinner in the hotel as the choice of food was to to our taste.

A good spot for one night in Edinburgh
Pros:

The hotel is well positioned in the city so you could walk to all the beautiful spots including a 15 min wasy walk to the castle. Hotel also has private parking for fee which was convenient. We also loved the fact the hotel upgraded us to a suite facing Arthurs seat. Lovely room!

Cons:

Breakfast was rather low quality.. breads were not fresh and not much variety. We wanted to extend our checkout by one hour and understood any late checkout was only for a fee
