The location of the hotel was great, easy to get to the rest of the lakes from there and a lovely walk starts just over the road. The bar staff were lovely and the outside area was lovely to have a drink outside.
The room was a great size with tea and coffee facilities, we had a gorgeous garden view, the room was dusty around the curtains and the carpet was filthy. The room was quiet.
The price was about right given it included breakfast, which was of a good standard.
All in all a nice base for our trip.
Friendly staff, always ready to help and advise. Very relaxing in the lounge, beautiful veiws from windows. Lovely breakfast in nice setting. We were really fortunate with the weather which put icing on holiday.
Parking car was sometimes difficult.
The room was very clean, large, beautiful views. And the bartender who got me a fan was lovely and kind. Great location.
The lady working the front desk when I arrived was very rude. She clearly didn’t want to be there and rolled her eyes when I asked if there was a fan I could have in my room (it was mid heat wave and there was no air conditioning). The dinner was average at best.
The grounds at the back were very nice and unusual. The hotel was genuinely dog-friendly. There was a nice lawn at the front. The staff were friendly. The location was good - near to a tourist steam train and a great motor museum.
One BIG problem for me was that the wi-fi was absolutely awful. Despite having modern equipment (modern laptop and modern iPhone), logging on was very unreliable, and often the signal was so weak that i would be logged out or a connection wold fail or be so slow. This was with basic stuff like emails. If you don't need wi-fi; then the hotel was Ok. Otherwise, its not for you unless they significantly improve the wi-fi.
Location and setting were good,
Sausage won't cooked enough,
Bacon was a bit hard,
And our shower was too hot and we couldn't turn it down!
This is a super hotel and as we wanted to take our dog with us to the lake district we found this hotel especially accommodating. The room was a very good size, warm and very clean. Food was good quality and cooked to order. Overall the staff and atmosphere were just right for a relaxing holiday. Many thanks to you all.
Parking was easy enough
Swimming changing rooms or general set up. Feel like the pictures of the hotel were off. All seemed a bit tired in the hotel to be honest. The games in the sitting room were incomplete and almost like a junk pile.
Food was really nice. Bit pricey for the hotel. The best way I can describe it is like the restaurant and hotel don't match up.
The food was amazing and we enjoyed the atmosphere in the bar very friendly bar man
Pool area could be nicer
The hotel was excellent. Very comfortable throughout. The room clean and warm. Staff were first class. We will definitely stay there again.
The whole hotel was great.
Very comfortable hotel with pleasant helpful staff and an excellent breakfast.
Location was brilliant and pet and child friendly hotel
It was very hot and the rooms had no air con. Our room looked out back onto the kitchen and bins - not very picturesque.
Very good breakfast. Room excellent
Better outside space would be good
Great location for easy walking to the Lakeside Jetty, comfortable rooms and a really good breakfast. Restaurant menu was good and plenty of availability, I ate in the bar for the 3 nights. Special mention to Kevin behind the bar who remembers what you’re drinking each time you go in and gets to know you.
Beautiful Carvery Sunday Lunch - We had a Wowcher deal (Things to do) which made it unbelievably good value for money.
The meats were superb - tender and well cooked. Great veg and delicious Yorkshire puddings.
Desserts were lovely and a glass of wine or soft drink included.
Staff were friendly and efficient - what more could you want.
