Scenic hotel in beautiful grounds, friendly staff, good food. Spacious rooms and reasonably priced. Convenient for beautiful walks and other nearby hotels/bars. Ample parking
We had an amazing weekend for our daughters birthday, the balloons in room were a lovely touch ❤️ The staff where friendly and helpful, the food was delicious, the garden room was nice, especially as we took our little dog, had lovely morning coffee on patio outside room which had a little table and chairs! Gardens were lovely, our daughter loved running around them.
We will definitely be going back,as felt like home, and was great value for money.
It’s a nice hotel in a great location to Windermere/Bowness with good bus route. We got married at this hotel in 2017 have been back on occasions & always enjoyed. We have stayed in the rotunda, the hotel several times but never the lodges so for my husband’s birthday treat I booked one of those. They are lovely with the log burners & hot tubs. They could do to look to changing the blinds which were broken at the bottom I’m assuming due to pets possibly but it was a minimal complaint. Beds very comfortable, clean. The grounds around the lodge could do with something maybe to make them look better but otherwise good. The hotel hasn’t changed much but the standout thing for us was the hotel restaurant. It used to have a point of difference from the pub menu but are just the same now. Maybe they have opted for this down to customer response but for me I had opted for the restaurant expecting it to have that difference. I feel that it’s a beautiful hotel but is lacking now in wanting to be better & seems like it’s become complacent in what it offers. Probably won’t return now.
Staff were great, very friendly and helpful. Hotel had a lovely, relaxing feel, food was delicious. Nothing was too much for then!
Lovely staff, good value, nice pool.
Location great, breakfast ok.
Creaking floorboards and ‘noisy’ guests in next room kept us awake!
Excellent! Very good value. My friend and I had a twin room.on Monday. We were upgraded without asking to be. The staff were very pleasant and it had a homely atmosphere. All the other guests seemed happy too.
Great food ,lovely Staff ,cracking little pub on the side

Would have been 5 stars for the food but the service was a little slow (although pleasant enough)
We visited for the fisrt time as a group of 2 couples for Sunday lunch.
The cold table had a varied selection of meat, fish and vegetable dishes that were fresh, appetising and enjoyable.
The roast meats were deliciously cooked and generous portions. The vegetables were fresh, rather than frozen. Everything was very hot too.
The dessert arrangement was unusual because there was a display of individual servings of the various offerings to look at but were served freshly made ones after ordering.
I really don’t want to criticise in anyway but we did wait a long time for the table to be cleared. We will definitely go again soon
The cabin was very cosy and comfortable. Facilities in the main hotel were good, the gardens are beautiful as well
There was dog food kibble on the floor of our cabin and we didnt bring the dog. So must of been from last guests
The food was excellent, particularly the breakfast.
No lift - but they reassigned our rooms to the ground floor. The showers are over-the-bath type and our friend found this just too difficult to navigate.
Nice breakfast and pool was not bad because was empty when we got there.
Lack of maintenance in the room, in the bathroom there were many things broken or just stuck, the carpet in the room was very dirty especially in the coffee area.
Very noisy throughout the night, it sounded like a generator or some other device running.
Piscine accessible 8-20h très bien
