The cabin was lovely and cosy, and I especially enjoyed the hot tub. It made the stay very relaxing and was a great place to unwind
To be fair there wasn’t anything I disliked over the blinds being a bit broken so didn’t feel like i was being covered
Property fine
No night porter, no bar service after 11pm, doors not locked at gone midnight, nobody around at all , cleaning of public areas didn’t start til almost 9am, wires across doorways, had to climb over vacuum cleaner and wires and rubbish from other rooms to get down stairs, evening restaurant staff not knowledgeable of menus, no condiments offered had to be asked for,
Breakfast staff unwelcoming and sullen, food quality at breakfast was unacceptable,
Wouldn’t stay again
The location was beautiful. Easy parking and breakfast was great!!
The swimming pool wasn't relaxing 😌 swimming lessons all day and not really a spa!!
The hotel and food were lovely.
A bit warm and uncomfortable. The room was lovely but the bathroom was dirty. The bath needed a clean
Excellent hotel with great staff
The hotel kindly upgraded my room. The hotel was comfortable, warm and welcoming. The games room also went down well with the kids!
The lounge was lovely and cosy with the fire. Loved the selectiion of board games and books for guests to borrow. The shower chair in the accessible room was a welcome aid. Plenty of towels in the bathroom.
The disabled room is too small it is awkward getting in and the entrance to the bathroom is narrow and it is hard to get in. I could see other people had issues from all the scrapes and damage to the woodwork. The breakfast needs a revamp. The continental breakfast is outdated - no cheese/meats or choice of pastries. The bread toaster doesn't work properly. Would like a coffee machine with a choice of coffees. The hot food needs more choice again is outdated. The dinner menu would benefit from the addition of a pasta dish.
Spacious bedrooms and plenty of rooms on the ground floor for socialising. We were there for a wedding anniversary and were thankful for the indoor facilities for the older members of the group but plenty to do for the younger ones like the swimming pool or dog walks. It is a dog friendly hotel!
Nothing as it was perfect for our needs. The staff were very friendly, polite and professional, particularly Kevin, the bar man who kept the fire stoked with logs as well as serving us food and drinks! A great asset for the hotel.
All was very good
Kettle and phone in room didnt work . Replacement kettle didnt work .
Hoovering at breakfast time .
Location is good. Large car park. Lovely big rooms.Comfy lounges and bar. Small games room. Beautiful large dining room.
The breakfast could have been better , not a lot of variety and food looked and tasted Asif it had been made too long. The coffee was rubbish.
Great location. Staff very friendly and approachable
Cabin was fine as was hot tub but both showing some signs of age.
Jacuzzi by the pool out of order and pool tiny
Food was expensive for the quality
Items missing at breakfast not told when ordering
Stay was very expensive what you got
Either food to be cheaper or better quality
Better lighting by hot tub (solar power fairy lights would be enough)
It was a beautiful location, with views of the lake. The rooms were big and it had a nice pool.
It wasn’t very clean. We found multiple hairs on the carpet of our room
Friendly staff and nice food.
Lovely Lou ge with open fire
The property was in a bit of disrepair , the window latch and mirror in our room were broken
Reception staff were nice while we stay.
Noises in the midnight, Dogs, poor hygiene.
Stayed 3 nights from new years eve, for £40 laid on food and entertainment 👌
We went to the hotel for New Year and stayed for 3 nights. On New Year's Eve we went to the party and enjoyed the curry buffet. The act was a singer who was very good and we also enjoyed a piper and a glass of bubbly at midnight. The night felt like a family party with such friendly staff and guests.
The staff were lovely and very helpful throughout our stay. The breakfast was one of the best I have ever eaten. There was a wide choise and everything was cooked fresh and was piping hot.
Excellent value
This hotel has great potential and tries to compete with the Swan across the road but there is no comparison really. Its a two star at best. Most disappointing is the bar area. When you go to use the toilet your feet will stick to the disgusting worn out carpets. On my visit the gent behind the bar kept calling me Pal and didn’t even say hello. The food is exceptionally average and you can’t even get a packet of peanuts anymore. Its a shame because they’ve let themselves down on silly things that could easily be put right.
