Pros:

This is a great hotel situated in an interesting part of Shanghai. My room was large, comfortable and very quiet. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent and good value. There are many dining options around the hotel. The hotel is within easy walking distance to two major metro lines enabling access to all the sites of Shanghai. A practical, comfortable Shanghai base.

Superb hotel in heritage area.
Pros:

Superb hotel in a rich walking heritage area. Everything was close by. French concession has to be one of the best areas in the city. Everything on your doorstep. Will easily return again!

A super competitive hotel based on location, 1930s historical buildings and garden, price, and services. About 3 minutes walk to main subway lines and one of the major streets in city center Hengshan road. Surrounded by beautiful alleys to discover local lifestyles. 1-2 minutes walk to Yongpingli where has different flavors of western restaurants. An approximately $10 per person breakfast is a must try. You will get both very authentic Shanghai and general western dishes. The entire property is clean and comfortable. Staffs are friendly and helpful.

5 minute walk to the Metro. In a quiet neighborhood. Staff was friendly but with limited English (although better than other hotels I stayed in China). Room had a view of Pudong Skyscrapers when there was no smog. Great breakfast.
