Everything, just a great place to stay
Nothing
It’s a small regional dated hotel
I had dinner in the evening and left a £14 tip. I didn’t have breakfast as I wanted to get on the road early but the receptionist insisted that I had to pay a £3 car parking fee- very mean spirited
Excellent location and a huge car park. Superb breakfast too.
Room didn't get cleaned or top up tea and coffee.
Location & beautiful historic interior. Dinner was lovely.
Breakfast was poor. Dry & hard croissants, ran out of smoked salmon. Hollandaise sauce tasted out of a packet, had spinach with muffin instead but only one leaf per muffin. Muffin soggy !
Radiator valves in bedroom make a mechanical noise every time they alter.
Smoke detector directly above bed constantly flashes.
Great location
Food presentation was poor, lukewarm breakfast nobody asked if everything was ok despite most of the food being left on the plate.
Lovely comfortable room with a view.
There was nothing that l didn't like.
Very friendly & helpful staff, lovely big room & great breakfast.
The room was a bit tired looking & the noise coming from another local establishment made it difficult to sleep.
The hotel is a 'grand old lady' in the heart of Penrith. If you want a sanitised modern experience then, maybe, The George isn't for you. Everything was very good - from arrival until departure. The staff were all very helpful and interested in their guests. My rate included breakfast which was freshly prepared to a good standard. £3 to park my car overnight - in the hotel car park.
I had no issues with any asodct of my overnight stay.
Location v good.staff v friendly
Not a lot of room in bathroom.knees touching radiator when on pan
The location, the hotel itself, the hospitality of the staff and the quality of the food.Would highly recommend this historic hotel
No lift is my only fault
The hotel is clean , staff are friendly, rooms are nice and clean , and is in a central location close to all the amenities the town has to offer
The only thing we could say is for evening meals they do not offer a salad dish , which we would off liked , other than that everything was fine
Staff very friendly, breakfast fantastic such a cosy hotel real oldie hotel with tonnes of character, will come back room 7 fabulous 👌
Nothing
The breakfast was excellent. Location fantastic.

Beautiful period hotel. Loved the decor.
Great breakfast.
Staff very attentive at breakfast
Quite a lots of stairs and like a maze finding room 1 st time.
The historical value of the property gives an insight into a grander time

Food excellent and great quality and service both at breakfast and dinner; very friendly and pleasant staff overall in the hotel and they had given us an upgrade as it was my husband's birthday to a much bigger room with seating area overlooking the front and a box of chocolates. The room had been very well refurbished, the bed very . comfortable and the
bathroom looked like new and included a walk in shower and a bath. Night light in the bathroom a good idea.
One or two small things - I would have expected a safe and if it was summer a fridge. Also although cleanliness was tip top the necks of the toiletries seemed to have been missed. Hook on back of bathroom door would have been helpful for bathrobes and even though there was drawer space a shelf would have been nice. Step up to bath could be dangerous.
