Overall good hotel in good location
Pros:

Rooms was very good , location is central, staff are very good

Cons:

Great weekend with friends and dogs

Cons:

The car park - there is no way from the car park to the hotel except going out and up the street and I had to carry a suitcase, dogs bag and bed along the street to the hotel

Overall a good stay
Pros:

Staff were very friendly and happy to help with our questions. Location was very good and included parking was useful. Room was large had a lovely view of the river, good storage and was very quiet. Comfortable bed and appreciated the little extras like the biscuits.

Cons:

Rooms need a bit of an update as several stains on the carpet. Mostly very clean but chairs had crumbs down the inside of the cushions and one of the pillows had a mark.

Location was good.

Cons:

The overall decor of both bedroom and breakfast room is dated and does not represent what is shown on website. No air con over a hot weekend and no fridge in room. Smelly corridors -would not recommend.

Very comfortable stay in a friendly hotel.
Pros:

The location by the river with a room overlooking the river. It was very peaceful and the room spacious. Breakfast and dinner were very good and the staff extremely friendly and efficient. Parking at the property was ideal.

Cons:

The door to our room was difficult to close quietly and with effort. The bath requires black mould remover on the silicon edging and the non-slip bath mat should be thrown out and replaced as it was disgusting.

Good but tarnished by the additional charge behaviour

Could be further updated and modernised in the hallways and rooms..
Disappointed that on check-in, it was noted that we had only booked for one person per room, not Two. I definitely set two people per room. And wasn’t told there was an additional charge for that until the next morning at check out. Not only that, check-in they didn’t make amendments to the room to be for two people. But were happy to charge us.!
The mistake didn’t give us time to rectify and I felt like the Hotel was not being fair. Overall, it made the rooms very expensive and I would’ve looked elsewhere. Felt very underhanded.

Disappointing standards of cleaning in room 404!
Pros:

The staff were very pleasant.

Cons:

We were in room 404. The level of care taken with this room was very poor, Bathroom tiles not clean. Dirty cup. The wall lights were very dusty and hadn't seen a damp cloth in some time. The worst thing was the fan in the wardrobe. It was a really warm day so i put the fan on, unfortunately I had not checked before switching it on that it was covered in a thick amount of furry dust and crud. Once I switched this on the dust particles filled the room. allergies the rest of the night for me. Very unpleasant.
I explained all to the receptionist when checking out, she did apologise and said she would inform the manager. Very disappointing visit!

Long route with stairs up and down to room (312) and laundry room was noisy next door.

Good value central Kendal hotel with parking
Pros:

Very helpful staff. A lot of facilities included in price - pool, leisure centre, dining areas.
Good size room and bathroom. Comfortable quality beds and bedding.
Excellent views from all guestrooms and dining areas of the river.
Liked bar area - modern and spacious
Excellent hotel parking area adjacent to hotel. Good central town location - yet quiet.

Cons:

Slightly shabby decor in rooms and corridors.
Downstairs bar toilets need attention - poor.
