Breakfast was poor not at all value for money. Long queues as everyone had to fill their own plate self-service from a small counter. Orange juice had No Taste more like water.Black Puddlng was rubbish
Would not stay again based on this.

The room was lovely. Nice view. And quite at night.
Dinner was amazing. My steak was cooked to perfection. Big shout out to the chef on that night. 6/4/26
Found the pillows quite flat when sleeping .
Absolutely loved it here !
We just got married at the old Blacksmiths this weekend, we booked the platinum package through smiths and everything was perfect!
Staff are so kind and friendly
The Ash suite was outstanding
The food was excellent
Only minor disappointment was they had ran out of his and hers passport holder souvenirs!
Definitely recommend this amazing 👏 hotel
The property was very nice overall, and the room we were given was clean, comfortable, and well presented. The staff were polite and helpful, and the location was perfect for attending my friend’s wedding.
I was disappointed because I had booked a one-bedroom cottage, but upon arrival, I was informed there was an electricity issue and we were moved to an executive room instead. Although the room itself was lovely, it was not what I had booked, and it meant we were separated from our friends who were staying in the cottages for the wedding, which impacted our experience.
Additionally, I paid £300 for the cottage, but the executive room costs £121 per night (£222 for two nights). Given this difference, I feel this was not equivalent accommodation.
I would appreciate it if the hotel could offer a partial refund or appropriate compensation to reflect the difference in room type and the inconvenience caused.
Lovely stay for daughters vowels renewal, beautiful service and hospitality at hotel for the family dinner after.
Coffee machine in rooms and water to drink
Convience
We were above where the kitchen was people talking very loudly and being unruly
The staff were so helpful. The cottage was beautiful and food excellent
I didn't like the early finish in the kitchen and restaurant. And if we needed room service we'd need to collect it and take it back to the cottage ourself
Booked online for main restaurant , no email confirmation, booked it again, no email confirmation, I emailed front of house, no reply, I then emailed to cancel the 2 bookings(dunno if they were booked), no reply. Very strange. Checked junk email, nothing. Hello is anyone there?
On arrival I enquired about the possibility of renewing our wedding vows with it being 60 years. From that moment we were looked after like royalty, transported to the venue by chauffeur, handfast ceremony, lots of beautiful photographs taken and just the best experience. We were both overwhelmed by the service we received, the hotel was beautiful and the meals we had in the restaurant were outstanding. I couldn't recommend this place enough.
Room
bar seating for couples
We stayed to visit again so we could place our padlock on the love fence. We like the hotel as it is so close to where we wanted to be and it is very comfortable. The room we had was beautiful.
I can’t say there is anything we don’t like about the property
We stayed here due to friends having a wedding, the hotel is in a gorgeous location, the rooms are really nice, tidy and clean you have everything you possibly need in the rooms . Staff are all friendly and very helpful.
Lovely staff, very clean hotel and good food.
Do not book the dinner, bed and breakfast deal. We booked direct and paid around £166 for dinner for 2 nights to find on further searching we were only allowed £20 per person per night towards dinner. So, £80 food and £86 ripoff. A manager tried to make it better by offering a cocktail (not our thing) on the first night and 3 course meal both nights but we were given a cut down menu. We watched everyone else in the restaurant order from the full menu and we, who paid most, had limited choices. Lots had fish and chips - not available for us.
We couldn’t cancel and rebook - you can for B&B but not for the dinner “deal”.
Left a poor taste.
Beware - just book the B&B rate.
Really enjoyed our overnite stay recently. Everything was excellent, great room, very clean, warm and spacious with a lovely view..Good food too.. will stay again
