HIlton Garden inn below standards
Pros:

The first impression I had walking in this hotel was that I felt the desire of the owners of is to make it obvious that they are not interested in investing in it, but to be sure to take your money.

I stayed in many Hilton Garden Inns and this one shows signs of what I just mentioned. 32 cedar trees all dead around the pool area, chairs in the restaurant that are covered with a fabric so they don't have to upholster them, carpets in the room and chairs with obvious stains and, to top it off, they make a campaing for the guest to return their room keys in the elevators.

You will say that this is not much to write about, I will add that these are NOT regular HGI standards I expereienced. Even the meeting board is an 8.5 x 11 sheet almost invisible on the wall facing the main entrance.

Even the staff agrees with us when we mention these defects...

All is not dark though. I found Gemma, restaurant server, to create a nice connection and knows how to interact with patrons. The two other servers were not as pleasant however they put the plates properly on the table...

The Front Desk staff was, for the most part, afable and were saluting us when passing by...but it deos not appear natural.

A great short break
Pros:

It’s very clean and the staff are excellent.

Cons:

The grounds keeping outside of the pool area could be better. There are dead cedars all along the fence.

Exceptional customer service
Pros:

Exceptional customer service, particularly from Brittany who helped me sort out a problem. Whenever we’re visiting in the Ajax/Whitby/Oshawa area, this is our hotel of choice. The rooms are very comfortable, it’s central to everything and again, the customer service is exceptional. We would whole-heartedly recommend!

Good value for money.
Pros:

Plenty of free onsite parking. Check in was quick. Room was modern, clean and comfortable. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was clean and well stocked

Cons:

You had to pay for extras...no continental breakfast...food was expensive. Even had to pay for the bottle of water in the room

Stayed here many times over the years

Cons:

They have installed these water saver shower heads. The showers are not good now. Water pressure and flow is not acceptable. How can you charge a higher price like other hotels which have much better showers and even hand held shower heads with much better flow and pressure

Had to turn off the AC in order to get some sleep.
Pros:

The AC unit is very loud either its broken or too loud for such small space within your sleeping area. The unit itself is in the bedroom which is a nuisance for how loud it is.
