Good room rates. Great facilities and a grand building
Rooms getting a little tired. Need to hoover under beds!
Restaurant food should have been great but just wasn’t quite good enough somehow
Nothing to dislike…. Only residents bar doesn’t stay open late which isn’t an issue but we were working late and a couple of beers and wind down time would have been nice..but bottles behind reception were available.
Nothing.
Good location for rest and close to everything
Nice clean and green location
Nice place to relax
Ample parking spaces. Hotel very clean but tired. Room spacious & decent bed linen but cobbled together as quilt did not cover the queen bed. Lots of space to relax in & well kept grounds.
For a 4* & at the higher price range, it did not offer value for money. Rooms are not cleaned daily unless you request this service!! Whist a leaflet informs you of this, it is written in a way to discourage you from requesting a room “refresh”. Hence tea stained cups if you stay more than 1 night! Room had a fridge but no complimentary water is offered. Breakfast was disappointing. Plates for a hot breakfast kept in a warmer drawer were cold. Bagels were offered but white/brown precut bread was that of a cheap supermarket. No granary or sourdough. Yoghurts/fresh fruits etc were not replaced when the display was empty despite 45 mins left of service . Tea/coffee self served from a machine was of poor quality & for a hotel to present cloudy aged plastic tumbler glasses to consume their juices is beyond words.
Pool and sauna nice, hotel set in a beautiful location.
what was meant to be a relaxing night away after a very stressful few months and to support my well being with my current health issues. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish.
My partner had treated me to this stay, and after the booking had already been paid for, we received a message advising that the Jacuzzi was unavailable/not working, which was already frustrating as this was part of the experience we were expecting.
Upon arrival, we were then offered an upgraded room for an additional £10, which we agreed to pay. However, when we entered the room, we were very disappointed to find the bathroom in poor condition. Underneath the sink/cabinet area was dirty, and the wallpaper was peeling off the walls in sleeping area, mould on window frames, dirty curtains all which gave a very poor first impression.
Shortly after, my partner used the toilet and discovered it would not flush properly. Maintenance did attend quickly, but we were left sitting awkwardly in the room while the issue was being repaired, which was very uncomfortable and took away from the relaxing atmosphere we had hoped for. Even after the maintenance staff left, the toilet still did not flush properly when used again around half an hour later.
We also chose to dine in the hotel restaurant, which was another major disappointment. The cod risotto lacked flavour entirely, and although the menu described it as a cod fillet, what was served appeared to be the tail end of the fish. The pork dish was extremely dry, and the sausage bean image0.jpegimage1.jpegimage2.jpegimage3.jpegimage4.jpegtomato combination placed on top did not work at all—it was unpleasant and not enjoyable to eat.
As a result, we ended up having to order a takeaway to the hotel room, which was incredibly disappointing considering the amount of money we had spent on what was supposed to be a special night away.
Beautiful old manor in a lovely location (you need a car).
Comfy beds
Friendly staff - they were more the welcoming when we arrived and let us use the leisure facilities even though our room wasn’t ready.
Kids loved the pool!
Good breakfast at reasonable price.
It was very hot! All the heating was on despite it being a warm day in May. We had to sleep with the windows wide open and even then it was warm.
Was very clean and staff welcoming
Lovely place great value for money and lovely staff
Not many plug sockets
