BEAUTIFUL WEEKEND at The Scott!
Pros:

Phenomenal breakfast, gorgeous architecture and location with beautiful garden

Cons:

Only thing that was negative was the room we got (Room 24) was very hot and we could only open the window a crack due to a wooden peg screwed in place.

Beautiful hotel, lovely staff
Pros:

It is a beautiful building, with a lovely dining aria. Breakfast was very nice, with vegan options available. Beds were comfortable, shower great. Staff were very attentive and accommodating.

Cons:

It is a lovely location, but for daytrips, which usually start somewhere in the old city centre and leave early, you do need to count in some extra time (30min on foot/15min by car) to get to the city centre.

Welcoming.
Pros:

The staff was very friendly and helpful at check in. Enjoyed a great night sleep due to the mattress, wish pillow was a little less “plump.”

Cons:

Guess I didn’t read enough to realize we would need to go to sister property for dinner as the one at The Scott was closed on Sunday nights.

We did dine at restaurant at The scholar and found it adequate but not fabulous for the price point.
Wish reception had offered additional dining suggestions, we did find local pub in walking distance and in retrospect, should have dined there.

In addition, we stayed the night of the fire at Arthur’s Seat -there was no communication from staff regarding the fire. As an international traveler, some guidance would have been appreciated. I found my own information on line to stay aware of situation.

Pros:

Tutto fantastico. L'accoglienza degna di un hotel a 5 stelle. Staff gentilissimo. Struttura fantastica, sembra di dormire in un castello incantato. Stanza pulita e con ogni comfort. Colazione buonissima.

Es ist auf jeden Fall eine Reise wert!:)
Pros:

Insgesamt fanden wir es sehr schön und sehr erholsam. Das Hotel ist etwas außerhalb vom Zentrum, aber durch die Buslinien, die direkt vor dem Hotel abfahren, gar kein Problem. Das Zimmer ist sauber und geräumig. Das Personal überaus freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Abende haben wir in der Bar ausklingen lassen. Dies waren überaus schöne Abende, hier einen ganz lieben Dank an Tulga, der uns jeden Abend zu den Whiskeys hervorragend beraten hat. Er hat unseren Urlaub zu etwas ganz Besonderem gemacht.

Cons:

-Kein Aufzug
-Leider war der Restaurant im Hause geschlossen ( in Vorbereitung auf einen neuen Chef mit neuer Speisekarte), ->man konnte aber im Nachbarhotel The Scholar hervorragend essen.

Beautiful hotel, charming and cozy.
Pros:

I loved the style and accommodations. This the design was very well curated and it was very cozy. The hotel restaurant was DELICIOUS. The breakfast was also wonderful.

Cons:

The one con was that there isn't an elevator, and you cannot open your windows 100%. The AC in my room didn't work, and because it was smaller it got hot when I would shower. I just wish the AC worked OR the window could open. While the restaurant was delicious and the hotel was generally well located, it wasn't easy to walk to anywhere. There was just one other restaurant option.

Wonderful. Quiet. Comfortable.
Pros:

Great breakfast. Wonderful staff. The nicest people work here and they go above and beyond to make sure you are taken care of. Loved the location near Arthur's Seat and the University.

Pros:

Staff, especially the evening housekeeping person on duty, went out of his way to ensure we had what we needed/wanted. Efficient & friendly.

The bathroom was difficult to manage, water splashed out of the sink and shower covering floor with water.

Fabulous!
Pros:

Fabulous property located just outside Holyrood Park, with foot access to the central town in 15-20 minutes. Located in a nice, green area, the room has been very tastefully done up. The value we got for our money was incredible : huge, well equipped bathroom, large and comfortable bed and well-lit room. The staff and service were excellent, it made our stay in Edinburgh even more special and memorable!

Cons:

Absolutely nothing to add here.

Bei diesem stolzen Preis eher eine Enttäuschung
Pros:

Angesichts der Bilder und des stolzen Preises hatten wir ein Top-Hotel erwartet. Diese Erwartung wurde nicht erfüllt. Das bedeutet nicht, dass das "The Scott" ein schlechtes Hotel wäre. Nur eben, dass es Erwartungen weckt, die es nicht erfüllt. Die Lage nahe an "Arthurs Seat", also nicht im Zentrum der Stadt empfanden wir als angenehm. Der Weg in die City ist nicht weit und es gibt viele Locations in fußläufiger Nähe. Das Haus beeindruckt von außen. Auch der Eingangsbereich und der Frühstücksraum können sich sehen lassen. Die Zimmer (zumindest die in unserem Bereich) sind dann doch eher winzig und ungünstig geschnitten. Immerhin waren die Betten sehr gut.

Cons:

Das Personal wirkte unsicher und war nicht in der Lage auf kleine Sonderwünsche ("Können wir fünf Minuten vor Barschluss noch einen Drink nehmen?" oder "Wäre es aufgrund unseres zeitigen Rückflugs möglich, ein kleines "To-go-Frühstück" zu bekommen?") einzugehen. Dabei machen wir dem Personal keinen Vorwurf. Eher schien es so, als wenn ihnen das Management keinen Spielraum lässt. Was uns allerdings störte: Die Freundlichkeit der Service-Kräfte war sehr aufgesetzt. Für einige der (osteuropäischen) Kellnerinnen schien bereits ein Lächeln eine zu große Kraftanstrengung zu sein. Sorry, da hat Edinburgh bessere Unterkünfte zu bieten.
