A Weekend in Edinburgh
Pros:

Room size, Decor, amazing breakfast.
Also accomodated a birthday celebration request.

Cons:

Unfortunately restaurant wasn't open for evening meals & bar food not available every day.
A larger wardrobe would be useful.

Schönes Schloss. Empfehlenswert.
Pros:

Die Lage war gut. Man konnte mit dem Bus ganz einfach ins Zentrum fahren und das Auto im Hotel stehen lassen. Frühstück üppig. Das Personal sehr nett. Badezimmer neu.

Cons:

Altbau: kein Fahrstuhl. Zu teuer für 2 Nächte.

No A/C - building from the 17th century, that is obvious. Stayed during the second week of June and the weather was great.
On-site restaurant Bonnar was closed (advised it would be open again in July 2026)

Angenehmer, hoher Komfort (zum recht hohen Preis)
Pros:

Das üppige, qualitativ sehr gute Frühstück war wunderbar - sehr zu empfehlen!
Das Personal ausgesprochen nett (insbesondere, als wir leider etwas im Zimmer vergessen haben)

Cons:

Man muss Glück haben, einen der wenigen Parkplätze vor dem Haus zu ergattern (Jammern auf hohem Niveau😉)

Un logement incroyable pour visiter Édimbourg
Pros:

Tout était parfait : l’accueil aux petits soins, la très belle chambre très confortable, la possibilité de prendre un snack et un cocktail sur place, la pièce du petit déjeuner est exceptionnelle, avec un bon choix de plats (mention spéciale pour le petit shot matinal au gingembre)

It’s a beautiful hotel with a lot of charm and character; and very comfortable
Pros:

Beautiful room, bed very comfortable, great breakfast and the staff is really nice.

Cons:

40-45 minutes walk to the center but Uber works fine.

Sehr schönes altes Haus, sehr schön renoviert.
Personal sehr zuvorkommend. Zimmer nr 35 sehr geräumig und gut ausgestattet.

Cons:

Einziges Manko: es gibt keinen Aufzug, für uns kein Problem, aber Gepäck in den zweiten Stock, wen älter …..

Pros:

Schönes Boutique-Hotel mit ausgezeichnetem Frühstück und freundlichem und aufmerksamen Personal. Ideale Lage für Wanderung zum Arthur‘s Seat und dem Holyrood Palace. Nur ca. 30 Minuten zu Fuß von der Innenstadt entfernt aber angenehm ruhige Lage.

Het is een prachtig oude locatie, iets buiten het centrum van Edinburgh. Wij hadden kamer 8, een mooie rustige kamer aan de achterkant van het gebouw (aan de voorkant hoor je de hoofdweg).
De kamer had een overheerlijk bed en douche.

Vanuit het hotel is het ongeveer 2 kilometer naar het centrum, maar met een bus (o.a. Bus 30) of Uber is dit dit prima te doen

Cons:

Een paar dingen:
- De ramen in kamer 8 zijn hoog, waardoor je niet echt naar buiten kan kijken, was jammer anders had je op de tuin kunnen kijken
- Bij het ontbijt werd muziek afgespeeld, mooi zou zijn als dit rustige (bij de sfeer van het hotel horende) muziek zou zijn, niet moderne muziek

Disappointing, it should be 3 stars rated.

Nothing special. Maybe the location only.

Cons:

The room was very dirty and covered in dust. I have a dust allergy, and every time I left my phone on the bedside table, it would quickly become covered in dust.

Both the room and the bathroom were extremely small and uncomfortable.

There was no bottled drinking water provided in the room. We specifically requested bottled water, but were told to drink from the tap instead because it was supposedly safe.

There was no room service available for food, and there was no restaurant serving dinner. When we went downstairs, we were informed that there was no chef available.

Overall, this was a very disappointing experience and far below expectations. I will not be returning to this hotel.
