Our 6th visit to Butterfly Beach and we wasn’t disappointed!
From the moment we arrived to when we left we were warmly welcomed and felt at home. This place certainly is a little gem and holds a special place in our hearts.
The hotel itself is very clean, rooms are large and have all the things you need for a relaxing stay. Nestled in between two lovely beaches and also right near a bus stop makes it an ideal place from which to explore.
The staff are amazing!! Special thanks goes to Harriet who responded to all our questions before we arrived in a polite and quick manner. The Reef staff - we love you all but special thanks goes to Karen, Lynette, Yvette and John. Lovely to see that you were still there. Deborah in the shop also deserves a mention!
See you all again next year and thank you for making our stay another memorable one ❤️
The staff were helpful.
The breakfast was good.
The room was clean and spacious.
We only stayed one night as a stopover before a cruise, so we didn't use the pool or outdoor facilities.
You charged an absurd amount for a kegerator brekfastbr abuse it was not included much to my surprise..

Hospitality, cleanliness, housekeeping
Lack of bleach & pine sol when cleaning bathroom, mops should be cleaned & sun dried
Just returned today from Barbados and 10 days at Butterfly Beach Hotel. Really wanted to love this hotel after reading so many good reviews. Sorry, but for our party of three it didn’t live up to those reviews….as a hotel it was a bit meh. The comment last regarding miserable staff, bordering on rude are true apart from a select few. Two older ladies & one waiter in the restaurant who were fine most of the time…the Barman wasn’t a happy chappie. The lady on reception was nice, sorry I didn’t get their names. The jewel in Butterfly’s crown was a lady called Cato. She had the happiest smiling face & made you feel she was happy to see you. We only used the hotel as a base as apart from those select few, we didn’t feel wanted there.
The rooms are large, but not really homely.. our fridge leaked water from day one, was rusty & no door on freezer bit so everything froze & then defrosted in there. A few other issues & the room never felt clean. I left a dirty towel scrunched up by the sink In bathroom one day to be changed by the cleaner. It was still in the same position after our room had been “cleaned” I use that word loosely. Please don’t tell me I should have complained to reception. You don’t go on holiday to spend your days complaining….it should be right in the first place. We didn’t expect a Palace for the price But clean & welcoming would have gone a long way. I will say the food in the Reef bar was good & reasonably priced. We ate there our first evening & last day.
I would say that we probably did pick the wrong area….not a lot around and the places you can walk to - Oistins, Massy’s supermarket & a few bars & restaurants….some great breakfast ones….Carolina’s…Hibiscus…you have to walk on treacherous pavements on busy main roads, no scenic route, but that’s my bag. Should have researched better. We did have a good holiday, but if we go back to Barbados would pick a different hotel & area, maybe around Dover Beach or Hastings. Beaches in those areas are stunning.
We’re home after a week staying at the Butterfly Beach hotel. After reading some reviews I was wasn’t sure what to expect however the hotel far exceeded my expectations. Rooms were a good size and were cleaned daily. Staff were friendly and couldn’t do more for you.
The pool was lovely and quiet. No need to race down to reserve loungers in the mornings there were plenty around the pool area, on the two decks over looking the beach which can be accessed for a dip in the sea and also the area by the whirlpools. The food at the Reef restaurant was good and breakfast simple but fresh.
It’s a great location and the ZR buses made it very easy to get around we ventured to Carlisle bay, Worthing beach, St Lawrence gap and Bridgetown all a short ride away.
There are a number of places nearby within a 10 walk to eat and drink. We went to Delilah’s beach club, Sage Bar, Surfers and into Ostins for the fish fry.
We will be back!!
Nice location on the beach, staff is polite too
Positive points rooms are spacious but some in serious need of updating. Prices in the bars in line with most other places and a short walk to Oistens though the pavements nepair. Breakfasts are basic on the positives it’s only a short walk into Oistins. However many of the pavements are pot holed as are the roads and Treacherous.
The serving staff are hit and miss on their whole mostly grumpy or rude with the odd exception. The check in experience was not fantastic but I think we landed during a busy period as the rest of the stay the reception staff were approachable and friendly.
The beach near the hotel is not large and had a number of sand flies also the pool needed better cleaning as it was murky but the adult ‘quiet pool’ was clean.
I like the view and that the hotel is right by the beach
I didnt like that there was no mini shower gel or shampoo, not one bottle water to drink, only couple sachets of expired coffee, had to pay for breakfast when it said breakfast was included at that praise... selling used cream at the gift shop
The situation
Adult only room out onto the pool
Friendly staff
Whole atmosphere of hotel
This is a fabulous hotel at a reasonable price. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and very clean. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, a special thanks goes to the staff in the Reef Bar and Deborah in the shop. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff at the hotel. The food at the Reef bar was lovely and we really enjoyed eating there. It had been 9 years since we had last been to stay at Butterfly Beach and it certainly won’t be another 9 years since we return. The staff and the hotel thoroughly deserve our 5 star rating.
Staff in the Reef .
Travelled alone but able to sit by sea front
Facilities when checking out but needing to spend rest of day at hotel
Just a basic hotel located closure to airport
Not value for money. Poor maintenance, Bad guest service, not suitable for Vegeterians/Vegans. The infrastructure is aged and feels like low-quality facilities.
Close to a small beach, rooms were large and comfortable.
Asked to resever a table for dinner, was told there were no tables until after 8.30pm, but there were empty tables all evening on the terrace.
