Het restaurant en de omgeving
Niets
Staff were incredibly friendly and professional. Ed had our dog with us and they supplied dog bowls etc
Dinner was absolutely superb and the pool facilities are lovely.
It would be good to have a light dinner option too.
Belle demeure familiale, chaque chambre aménagée différemment, personnel très bienveillant, ambiance familiale.
Magnifie couloir de nage,
Accueil des chiens .
Nice chateau.
Nothing else close by . Atleast for another 45mins by car
fabulous shabby chic chateau .. wonderful swimming pool A/c in bed room .....superb meal in restaurant
great breakfast ....rural location
drinks bit over priced
Very nice mansion decorated with taste and superb restaurant.
Relatively far from main roads but worth the detour!
The building, more of a large house than a chateau, looks pretty and is set in its own pleasant grounds within a quiet, almost deserted village with good dog-walking opportunities.
Our reception was bland and tepid. Our “Prestige” room was adequate but not prestigious; it was disappointingly drab and run down, as is the rest of the place both internally and externally.
The high point was to be dinner in the “Romantic” restaurant, but there was nothing romantic about it at all; just an ordinary sort of room with mirrors and a couple of chandeliers. And the service was very slow. Nor was it a meal at all, more of a visual and flavour experience than a proper dinner. We chose fixed menus of 3 and 5 courses. The meal was a complete joke or a ripoff, we’re not quite sure which; probably both. The chef undoubtedly had considerable skills but the portions were not enough to satisfy a mouse with stomach stapling. The Arctic Char was barely a sniff and the Green Asparagus was two mean stems plus an additional wild one the size of a blade of grass. The piece of fish was smaller than my index finger with veggies of seven green peas and one broad bean; see photo. The joke continued with the meat course. A tiny little bit of veal and half a baby artichoke; see photo. The dessert was very tasty but again, small. The joke turned into a ripoff when we were presented with the bill: two meals, two drinks and a bottle of water - €254-00. Not even half a glass of wine! Part-way through the meal I wished to have a word with the restaurant manager, but she had already taken herself home. Our thoughts were shared by two other couples.
Next day we opted to avoid breakfast at €29 per head and instead went to reception to check out and be on our way. We were surprised to find that it was closed until 09:00 hrs, an hour later than advertised. Still, if no-one’s there to accept complaints then there aren’t any!
There are plenty of good places to stay in the general vicinity and this is certainly not one of them. However, if curiosity gets the better of you, then do have a decent meal before you go or take with you some sandwiches.
The room was lovely with everything we needed for a quiet stay. The restaurant was light spacious and airy and dinner and breakfast were exceptional. The staff on arrival were very welcoming and the the attention we received at dinner was first class.
Lovely property, beautifully renovated with lovely garden areas and pools. Very dog-friendly
Nothing. The restaurant is deserving of its Michelin star although maybe not an attraction for everybody.
