Great place for a relaxing and slow paced break away from the busy-ness of everyday life.
Pros:

Very laid back and homely feel, with great cooking and washing facilities.
Walk to the community tennis court a few blocks away for a game each day was great.
The DVD collection for the rainy days was also a bonus.

Cons:

The leaky toilet running all day and night was noisy and unfortunately the weather wasn't great the whole time we were there.
A convenience store close by would have helped optimise the kitchen facilities but the property did advise that online shopping could be ordered and delivered, we just weren't staying long enough to utilise such a service so a little shop nearby with just a few bibs and bobs would have been good.

Didn't like shower as half panel screen so water went all over floor outside, not enough saucepans to cook, just had 1 pot and an older frypan

Excellent lagoon pool; close proximity to buses to all areas of cairns; across the road from licensed cafe and close to pizza place. Excellent hosts, Ruby and Josh.

Comfort of the unit

Cons:

Not a lot of facilities in near proximity. It's called Cairns Beach Resort but it's not actually in Cairns and that was a bit misleading.

Pros:

Staff were lovely and accommodating. Pool was well loved by my kids, and the room was spacious. Appreciated having a kitchen. Location right on the beach was fab, although currently closed following significant erosion.

Cons:

Unfortunately it was not well cleaned, lots of dust, found an old bandaid under the bed, and clumps of hair stuck to the blanket. The light cover fell off in the bathroom, fortunately not onto anyone, and the staff were very unsurprised that it had happened. Lastly, the utensils and cooking equipment is the cheapest of the cheap, a warped frying pan, mini tongs that the heads fall out of, and more.
