The staff are very nice. The room is nice and clean but was cold at night. The bathroom has a lot of room for improvement.
Nice hotel, basic, but has everything you need
Everything was fine.. it's a great central place to the city.
Very helpful accomodating staff with this quaint hotel
The staff were super friendly, the room was clean and the breakfast was good (good for a 2-star hotel).
The price was a little high for what they offer, could be due to the high demand time.
Clean tidy and friendly
The room they gave me was over a pud with loud music till 2:30am. Mgt was also not helpful.
Location is pretty good but condition of the hotel is not great. Also only have one type of soap dispenser in room with really strong soap that isn't good for your skin. The tea kettle was also questionably clean.
The lift also did not work when I arrived.
Way over priced for what you're getting.
Hotel is badly in need of a refurbishment. Hair dryer in room not only not working, but wiring frayed so therefore dangerous. Tried to ring reception for portable hair dryer and report fault only to find phone not working either. People on reception friendly and helpful also the cleaners.
Very central, overlooks beautiful canal. However, it's also a bit noisy from traffic - and from the adjacent Portobello bar/pub downstairs with loud crowds, disco and live music! Better for young clientele that an old single like me!
Friendly staff, very quiet room and very comfy bed. Great location and super value for money.
I wouldn’t say there was anything I liked. The first night we stayed our plugs in the room were not working so we were unable to charge anything in the room. We weren’t able to get another room untill the next day. Which ment we didn’t have a room from 11-4. The next room was okay. The key wasn’t working to begin with then the toilet wouldn’t flush. I would say over all horrible experience especially after paying €350 it was not worth it and very Disappointing.
We also got told we would get a ‘ discomfort’ fee back but that never happened.
Thanks to a wonderful staff member Mario, who went out of his way to help us with a small problem, our stay was very good.
Thank you very much Mario for your help!!!
Staff was wonderful and helpful. And it wS surprisingly quiet. Property is tired. Reasonably clean. bathroom faucet was loose and bath tub not scrubbed (we did arrive early so housekeeping was rushed). Staff gave excellent off property restaurant recommendations. We’re fully booked.
the bed (matres)was not good. to old !! wene I Opend the windows at all times there was strong smell of cooking ham or egss , I had to shout the windows at all times. cant imagine what turist do at sunny or summers day. the shawer
didnt have a strong flow of water .the stufe where real nice !
in the room there are notices to call reception to get wifi password but when you call down to reception they tell you to look for the password in your room!
Late check-in was friendly and efficient. The room itself was very comfortable, clean and in good condition; however the bathroom was probably due an upgrade with a faint smell of damp and tired fixtures and fittings. Breakfast in the bar downstairs was fine. The common parts were in the process of being redecorated to a good standard.
Unhelpful in assisting us in resolving an issue
Front staff unwilling to allow us to speak to management regarding our complaint. Would not stay here or recommend anyone else to do so either
We loved this hotel, not large in a great part of town lots of food and pubs.
At over €250 a night I thought the room was a little 'tired' - but there is a dire shortage of hotel space in Dublin. The (Irish) breakfast was awful I'm afraid: cheap orange juice, coffee stewed to hell, shrivelled bacon (one meagre rasher), tasteless egg, sausage made of sawdust, black pudding made of even worse sawdust. In Ireland - where MacSween's black pudding comes from? This plus the overweening smell of disinfectant from the bar......
