Very clean and in excellent condition.
Only one single staircase to 4 second floor rooms in a wood frame building, no other exit, no fire safety instructions.
Lack of soundproofing. We could hear noisy children downstairs in the early morning and evening.
Beautiful accomodation. So well appointed. Incredibly comfortable and homely. Delightful extra touches. We'd love to come back!
We’ve been going to Mendocino for decades and love, love, love Cafe Beaujolais - when I saw they were opening an inn, we had to try it - it was perfect - great attention to detail - down to the fresh cookies and whiskey waiting our arrival. Our new favorite place to stay in Mendocino - can’t wait to go back.
Location is excellent and the property was beautifully maintained! The room was on the smaller side but comfortable.
My partner used one of the complimentary q-tips in the bathroom to clean his ears and the tip broke off inside his ear!! Maybe don't include any or invest in a better quality brand (they were - as we discovered after the incident - fragile).
Beautifully and thoughtfully furnished, although the room was very small. Loved the bathroom and the heated floors in the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were so soft!
I didn’t like the fact that there was no one to greet us. I understand it’s a contactless check in/check out but it felt really impersonal and of course there’s generally a delay in connecting with the person for any questions. The special link they provided didn’t work.

Very clean and comfortable overall, with a good location within Mendocino. The communications were complete, proactive and responsive, even though everything was done online and virtually with keypads to get in and out. There were no humans staffing the premises besides the cleaning staff.
The biggest issue was that I was charged $185 more than what was stated in Booking.com, and neither the hotel nor Booking.com fixed the problem despite several requests (Booking.com omitted some taxes and automatic gratuities). Also, the room was advertised as having an ocean and garden view: it had neither. One window overlooked the street, the other a parking area. Finally, the room was quite small for $400/night and the slanted dormers over the bed meant that my wife hit her head several times getting in and out of the bed.
Exceptionally clean, perfect location, wonderful breakfast
Room size a bit small. No closet. Step down bathroom, housekeeping staff only made our bed after we asked them to fully service the room.

-Could hear through the walls. Could hear neighbors distinctly talking in next room. -Construction/repair in room next door on Friday when trying to rest.
-no contact person on arrival & had trouble accessing the front door to the Inn.
-management not helpful or understanding when dealing with an issue
