Attended Ripken Experience many times. This hotel is the closest to the games. We chose Residence Inn because we were in town for multiple days of the Ripken Experience, and it turned out to be a great decision. Having extra space made a big difference—room to spread out, relax, and reset between games.
What we didn’t expect was how often we’d end up walking to The Screaming Bean instead of cooking or eating hotel food. Their breakfast and lunch options were convenient, quick, and genuinely good—perfect for tournament schedules. Supporting a local coffee shop while getting great food made the stay feel more connected to the community.
For families staying several days, this hotel paired with nearby local spots really enhances the overall experience.
The Residence Inn-Aberdeen Ripken Stadium is in desperate need of an update. The carpet in our room was threadbare and torn between the bathroom and bed. We had the worst night's sleep in the bed. The mattress had zero support. It was way too soft, and we rolled towards the center so we couldn't get comfortable. The sofa is worn too. The cushions are flat and we sank into the sofa. We had to use the pillows to offer support so it didn't feel like we were sitting on the frame. The furniture in the room is the typical Residence Inn heavy wood that was used in the early 2000s. It has a lot of dings and scratches. The TV only offers cable and does not allow for apps to be used. On a positive note, the bathroom has the tall toilets so there's that. I will also say the staff are incredibly nice. A manager got me ice when we got there since the ice machine in our room wasn't turned on and making it quick enough. The woman who worked the breakfast in the lobby was wonderful too. I'm sure the hotel is perfectly fine for families whose kids play baseball at the stadium. However, until the hotel goes through a total refresh, I can't recommend staying there.
The location overlooking Cal Ripken field was incredible. You could watch game from the studio unit. Better than a box at Yankee stadium. Went with my grandson who played in the tournament and family. He will never forget it. A forever memory. The studio unit even had a dishwasher. Comfortable king bed, living room and kitchen area. It was expensive but it was a once in a lifetime experience. I hope to do it again next year.
We stayed here the end of August & have waited for a resolution to our problem. As soon as we arrived in the room, we noticed a very stinky, moldy smell & called down to the front desk to tell them about it. They said they would send someone up to our room, which turned out to be a cleaning lady. She said she could smell it as well & came back with a deodorizing spray. That did not help much as it dissipated soon after she left. We left to go get supper & picked up some deodorizing solid air fresheners with activated charcoal in them & placed them in the two rooms while we showered & got around for bed as we had to wake up early in the morning. Once we had our shoes off & were ready for bed, I walked over to the window in the living room area to close the shade & my socks got soaked. The entire carpet in front of the window was soggy! We called down to the front desk again & told them but said that we did not wish to switch rooms at this point because it was late & we needed sleep but wanted them to know that we thought we had found the source of the smell. It was coming from the nearby air conditioning unit next to the window. The next morning we noticed that the carpet in the bedroom was also soaked on the other side of the wall next to the AC unit as it had soaked through my bags from the floor. They apologized, said they would refund us & that the manager would call us but no one ever did. I sent several emails back & forth & they finally gave us 10,000 points, which is about 1/3 the cost of the room. IMO, it should have been at least half for the inconvenience, tolerating the smell, perhaps breathing in mold spores, having to purchase air fresheners & do the follow-up that they should have done. Otherwise, the location is great if you are attending an event at Ripken.
Recently stayed here for my son's baseball tournament. Overall stay was good. If you typically stay at Redidence Inn's the rooms are dated and could use updating. We arrived on a Friday and went to the front desk for several amenities that were missing, soap, dish towel, dish soap, do not distub sign. (We had our dog with us and did not want housekeeping to entrr the room). Our room had the balcony view which was nice.
The hotel is connected to the Marriot Courtyard so the front desk at RI is not fully staff. They share front desk staff. the staff was very helpful and pleasant, shout out to Brian who was very helpful and attentive during our stay.
The stay was perfect everyone was super kind and helpful and I will definitely be back
Great atmosphere
The view from our room of the Cal Ripkin complex was amazing.
Overall, excellent stay. Tamara and the rest of front desk were attentive and amazing. There was not a request they declined. There were a couple issues with room, but no deal breakers. I would definitely book again.
Convenient and private. Receptionists Tamera was excellent. Great communicator.
We stayed for the Ripken Armed Forces tournament weekend in May. From check in to check out this hotel was on point. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the field and we were missing chairs. The front desk went out of their way to go to a local store to purchase us chairs and have them to us within an hour. When we needed additional bedding and pillows, they promptly got it right away. The free breakfast is such a win when traveling with families. I found it to be on point and so convenient, especially the coffee. The proximity to the stadium can’t be beat. It was so nice to be able to walk back-and-forth.The room was clean and comfortable. Our room had a kitchenette and full fridge which was so nice. Not a complaint to be had. They did an amazing job. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat.
hotel is friendly, large rooms, love the area too
Overall nice stay, some minor things that could be spruced up.
I liked that the property was close to 95. We needed to stop driving and decided to stay overnight somewhere. The baseball complex was pretty cool.
The furniture in the room was a little beat up. But the bed was comfortable, and the room was clean.
Staff at the front desk when we checked in was not very friendly. Just did what they had to do, but really not friendly. Also, one of the key reasons why we chose this hotel is that they had a bar, and we felt like having a cocktail after driving for several hours. The bartender was also mediocre. First of all we wanted espresso martinis, and immediately she said that they were out of the liqueur for it. OK. Then we ordered two rounds of wine, and each round was a different price, which I did not notice until I checked out. A difference of about two dollars but still, why a difference at all when we ordered the same thing twice. I couldn’t question it because the gentleman at the front desk was on a phone call for 10 minutes and we had to hit the road.
Close to the highway. Close to greatwolf lodge and casino! We stayed in the winter but, I would love to see this place during baseball season!
I liked the layout.
No front desk staff. Gum in our carpet by the sofa bed.
Hotel itself was fine but we arrived at 10pm and the front door was locked and no staff at the front desk. We rang intercom numerous times. We had to walk to the Courtyard right next door and check in there and walk through connecting hallway over to Residence. A SIGN would have been nice so we didn’t wait around about 15 minutes for no reason.
