I chose this hotel due to the extremely close proximity to Ruby Hospital and because they allow pets; from that standpoint it did not disappoint. However, after that, there isn't much that is outstanding about this hotel. It's truly in desperate need of a soft goods renovation. As we were there for surgery and recovery post op, it was not a "comfortable" room to spend the day recovering. Not only are the mattresses EXTREMELY worn out, but the couch and chair in the shared living space (Two bedroom suite) were AWFUL. I literally had to take pillows from the bed to lay across the couch to try and make it more comfortable to lay on (as my mother didn't want to be in the bed any longer).
The hotel is clean, which is more than I can say for most. But, the staff is mildly friendly at best and truly sometimes made me feel like we were just in the way. From check in that was super rushed (even after she asked why we were visiting), to the houseman vacuuming the lobby DURING breakfast and forced us to navigate around his cord, to the disappointing breakfast. The attendant was clearly not concerned about the 10 people she had in the breakfast area, but more about talking to the other staff members. Is there a uniform at this hotel? The only one I saw in one was the houseman... very confusing and looked unprofessional.
All in all, I think I'd chose a different location for the next surgery - until this one either works out its kinks and gets an upgrade.

Our first room was very hot when we arrived and ended up needing to change rooms late at night but the staff was very helpful when we moved.
Proximity to the airport is very good.

We especially like the separate bedroom layout. This allows one of us to go to bed early if necessary. Plenty of space. Very clean as well. I had left my charging cord in the other room that we first were assigned and a very pleasant and helpful housekeeper brought it to me in our new room.
When we first arrived we were assigned a room with a refrigerator that was broken. We asked for a new room with a working refrigerator and our request was granted.

Room faced hospital with heliport on its roof and helicopters were arriving during the night, very noisy.
Had to ask several times for stuff, and it took for the third time to get it two days later. The faucet was never fixed

The hotel is comfortable, the breakfast is very good, and the rooms are spacious. Everything meets a high standard.

Excellent location to WV University Medical Center. They even gave us a discount since visiting family there. Walkable to the stadium. Our TV did not work but they immediately gave us a Roku. Bed & room was comfortable. Kitchenette had a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker & sink. Our one & only complaint was the breakfast. It definitely lacked & really was not good. There was no bacon either morning as advertised. The juice machine was broken but they had orange juice boxes.
The room was nice studio layout with a large TV and kitchenette. This made it comfortable for my dog. Decent breakfast and outdoor seating with a fire pit and cornhole.
The dog area was very small and soggy. Was tucked away in the back of the property by the dumpsters. Didn't realize that dogs were not allowed in any of the other grassy lawn areas
