Don’t go there. The owner does not return calls. I booked a room in February for a room in September they charged my credit card. I cancelled the room in August before the 30 day period that you were required in order to get a refund. When I got my credit card statement I didn’t have a credit from them. So I called was told she would contact the owner to have him credit my card. Never received a credit called several times they don’t answer the phone, left a message never received a call back. We were in the area so went to the hotel to see about getting a refund instead of giving me a refund Amber charged my credit card again. When I looked at my statement I realized what she had done. I called her she told me she was dyslexic. Told me if I didn’t have a credit in 2 weeks contact my credit card company. Gave me the owner Tom Shorts phone number to call about the refund which I called & left him a message. Never received a call back. Very dishonest people.
Stay away. Still have not received refund for an extra night I was charged for directly by property. Booked 2 nights through Choice hotels then was charged a 3rd night by property. After a month of emails, calls and texts there has been no refund. Property dirty, rundown, and poorly owned. No mattress pads, stained beds, no fitted sheets, dirty pool bathrooms, dark hallways. Hot tub is broken and been closed all season. Owners non responsive.
Wish Trip Advisor had negative stars! Made reservations for 2 rooms in February for July 19, 2025, a very busy weekend so we were happy to find lodging. At 11:40 the day of, notified that one room was cancelled. Impossible to find another place that day. No response from Tom Shartt, supposedly the manager (with a 312 are code). Natalia at the front desk was so nice; left at the front desk the busiest weekend of the year with no ability to provide a refund. In fact, no one on the premises could refund. While we were waiting, another guest said her TV or coffee machine did not work. Then I was informed it could take a month for a refund! NEVER patronize this "establishment." Believe all the bad reviews - unbelievable to cancel with hours notice with no explanation whatsoever. We had to cancel dinner reservations and drive home. The rest of the weekend planned couldn't happen because of the Shore Club's unprofessional handling of this situation. Think that money and influence is involved here? I do. Worst experience with a hotel in my life.
Stayed last year (AC was out, but they moved us, so not ideal but also not the end of the world). I thought we'd try again this year and made reservations in February. 5 months later, I get a call 6 days before our stay saying our reservation has been canceled due to a "maintenance issue." No clarification was offered on the "maintenance issue" (which I found odd, seeing that this occurred a week before our stay). I've also yet to receive a refund -- I paid for the room in full back in February. Called for clarification on the cancelation and was told I'd get a call back (the person who answered the phone over the weekend had no idea what was going on). Five days later I've yet to get a call back. My $820 weekend went to $1500+ when I had to switch to another hotel in town on short notice. I'd leave zero stars if I could.
Staff was Harding working
Service nonexistent. No help at the desk, just a phone number. Unkempt grounds. Only two towels, no hairdryer, no spare toilet paper, unusable soap dispensers, dirty sheets, no mattress pads, flat dirty pillows… no room service or fresh towels available 2nd day. Conversation totally clear from room next to us. Tiki bar was ant infested and food there was questionable. Paid over $600 for 2nights… expected resort type service. Heard from people living nearby that the place is possibly in forclosure or bankruptcy. Totally upset with this being on Hotels.com offering. Would like a refund.
Clean room. Nice grounds.
I would NEVER stay here again. Parking is very inconvenient. Breakfast is nonexistent. However the worst part about this property is that there is NO hotel staff on premises after hours. There is a clerk who lives nearby but no one is actually at the hotel at night. On Sunday of our stay, the fire alarm went off at 8:30am. I exited the property and headed to the office. I found no one there - just a sign saying she had stepped away with a phone number. I called the number for Amber and I obviously woke her up. She mumbled that she would be there soon. Not knowing what else to do I called 911 to report the alarm. Many guests were now outside wandering around confused. The fire department arrived and began checking out the property. Amber arrived about 10 minutes after the fire department in bare feet with no urgency. She told me it was a false alarm. After the fire department left we packed up and went to check out only to find that the office was locked and Amber apparently went back home again leaving the property unattended.
What if this had been a true emergency/fire??
The neglect for safety is unacceptable! How can a resort leave the property's guests unattended?? Why did their fire alarm not alert the fire department?? Unbelievable
Cute place. Rooms were redone and very nice. Will have to come back in warmer weather when more things are open.
Very clean and quiet.
Comfortable king size bed room, with a kitchen sink, refrigerator, not sure if it had a microwave didn't check. Shower had a wand on a hose good water pressure. I would like more wall hooks and shelves I never use the dressers to put my clothes in. Strange accommodations for parking I would call ahead about that.
The worst hotel experience my boyfriend and I have ever had in our lives. Paper thin walls separated us from our loud neighbors that kept us up until 5am. The shower heads had suspicious mold-like residue. If this wasn’t bad enough we woke up to ants in our bed!!! I thought I felt something crawling on me last night and that confirmed my suspicions. I am trying to contact management to give feedback and only receive voicemail. Very unprofessional.
I wouldn’t stay here again in the winter. Felt run down. Maybe I’d feel differently in the summer.
So I went through and read all the reviews and was beginig to think I made a mistake booking here. Honestly this place is not that bad! Our room was super cute, and it may have been the off season so it was a ghost town, but that's one of the reasons I liked it! Quiet and no drunk adults or screaming kids. Was it a little pricey being off season and none of the restaurants or bars were open.... yes. But overall the location was beautiful and it's in a cute littke town. Not sure how it is in summer, but I enjoyed some peace and quiet in the fall!
Looked like the room was updated 20 years ago. Poor parking, poor signage and run down.
I've heard the rest of this hotel is great and the outdoor pool was fantastic; however, you do NOT get what you pay for or get what is promised from the condo with the two bedrooms. The pictures make it seem modern, as did the person we spoke to on the phone ahead of booking. It's VERY dated with beds (not two queens but two fulls) that were hard. The king bed was also uncomfortable but indeed a king. The entire condo is very dated furnishings. But the most disappointing part is that there are ZERO lake views, which was the entire reason we were willing to pay $700 per night. You have to exit the condo and walk down in front of another person's condo to see any views. Also, it had a very dated key system, and we almost got locked out several times. I'd recommend The Shore Club for location but do not book this specific room type!
Location is great. Rooms could use some updating, but were pretty clean. Had to make multiple calls to get clean towels as three were not enough for two people and six nights.
In need of an update..no parking
Barely any guests...room keys don't always work, TV hard to use, no body wash, disappointing
Location and amenities Clean and quiet Good shower and porch/deck.
We’ll be back!
