My husband had a trip in the area and needed to fly out of South Bend, IN. I picked the hotel for him as I have the Hotles.com account. I picked it for the reviews and the airport shuttle they had.
Where do I even start.....? He walked in to check in and saw people that seemed "shady" at the entrance. No big deal..... Maybe his senses were off as he was tired from the business he was conducting and just wanted to get a good nights sleep before his flight the next day.
He checks in and goes to his room and what does he see? It looked to be prostitutes coming in and out of the room(s) near him. He unlocks his room and is instantly grossed out. He said the room looked like it wasn't cleaned all the way. He said the sheets looked used and not cleaned. He saw a used article of clothing on the floor and the couch had stains all over it. The room was disgusting.
He immediately called me and said what was going on there and we agreed that he was NOT going to stay there. He went down to the counter and told them what was going on and they seemed to not care and he wanted a refund since he won't be staying there because of the condition it was in. The person at the counter talked to someone and they said they'd refund him. He also found out they don't have any airport transportation!! Don't advertise it then!
It is now November and I've talked to my credit card company and they can't refund it because it was a non-refundable room. I understand that but sometimes things require the right thing to happen and Sleep Inn needs to offer a safe, clean room for guests. Sleep Inn told my credit card they will not refund the room since it was non-refundable. That's not what the front desk told my husband! I'm now talking to Hotels.com where I booked it through. They can't get a hold of Sleep Inn. Horrible place of "business"!
I would tell you to run away from this place!!!! Too many other options out there. Not worth the headaches we're going through. Not sure were the reviews came from (people they know, maybe?) but my husband's experience was the complete opposite of the good reviews.
Room and bathroom clean, comfortable and quiet. Weak breakfast and very slow checkin. Everyone polite and professional though.

Very good staff gentlemen checking me in was super nice and the room was definitely worth the time and money that i paid . Parking was more than perfect 👌 Air conditioning was fine i recommend this hotel. No complaints

Hotel notified us 8 days before the Texas A&M vs ND game that they could not accomodate our reservation do to "legal issues" at the hotel.
The room was adequate. None of the amenities were working. There was no breakfast. Just a place to crash.
Smelled bad inside, Everything was grimy, stains on sheets. Pool closed, Continental breakfast was foul and old. Key card not working late one evening and had to wait an hour for the staff to return to let me into my room.
I tried to contact the property directly and no one answered. I called the 800 # and 4 different customer service staff could not get anyone on the phone at the local property. I arrived to what appeared to be a deserted hotel. I was traveling alone and was not comfortable staying there. Again, not beaing able to contact a PERSON at the property added to my issues.
The exterior looked abandoned with all the grown up weeds. Needs landscaping work. Interior was clean and looked better. Room was clean. Breakfast was ok. Instant eggs were not good but the yogurt, waffle and coffee were good.
Toilet broke, no phone service, microwave didn’t work, smelled bad, no coffee maker, air conditioning didn’t work. Ugh!
Had to go to two rooms. First room toilet wouldn't work. Wouldn't flush. Missing flush arm connection to flush valve. Couldn't convince desk clerk. Clerk also forgot to activate AC system until I mentioned it. Second room had working toilet. It appears the toilet had been broken for some time.
The inside is much, much nicer than the outside - don't judge a book by its cover!
The ownership group needs to sell this property. We’ve been staying here for years but it has been in steady decline favor the last two years. Staff is poorly trained and the outside of the property is absolutely Eay should be paying me to stay there.
We stayed in room 115, so I can only speak to that room.
The sofa was so stained and gross looking that we did not want to touch it. It needs to be replaced, cleaning it just isn’t going to do it.
The carpet looked clean but it is old, worn and badly stained.
One arm of the toilet paper holder bracket was missing, torn off but the screw that would have secured the arm was sticking out.
We did not use the fan in the bathroom because it sounded like it was trying to grind its way out of the ceiling.
The handle of the water faucet leaked.
Outside, there is no grooming of the grounds. There are tall weeds and grass growing in the stones which surround the building and the parking lot. The vending machines were empty which seemed odd to us.
This Sleep Inn needs a lot more effort than just TLC. It seems to me that this location is being run to squeeze every cent of profit from it with no regard to the future of this establishment.
We will not be staying in this particular hotel again.
First room had dried puke on the floor along with something splashed on the wall that had not been cleaned up. Asked for a different room. 2nd room ac didnt work very well and handicap shower stall wasnt working properly. Shower head didnt stay attached so had to hold through the whole shower. Bedding and towels in both rooms were very dingy and dirty looking. Pool was closed and appeared to have been closed for an extended time. Ice machines, vending machine and drink vending machines were not working along with juice machine in breakfast area. Would not stay again.
