A great guy and a great consierge

What a great consierge and a great guy he is! He went out of his way to help us ! He even found out it was my birthday and brought me a birthday cake while singing the song! A pleasant surprise! His touristic help was invaluable! Helpful and charming. He is a 5* guy and a 5 star guy. Thanks for everything!

Van Duc helped us a lot. Search for him with the laundry, much cheaper than in the hotel. Recommended a good restaurant, answered many questions… everything was fine

Very nice hotel good location.
Pros:

The hotel is centrally located and our room had beautiful views of the river and city. The room was large and in very good condition. The upstairs bar had amazing views over the city and breakfast included everything you could possibly want. The door man Van Duc was great and made sure we got to where we were going and made sure we had a nice drink while we waited.

Far from a 5 star hotel
Pros:

Hotel is very dated and dark, rooms could do with a refresh. Staff can be inattentive and not particularly caring regarding guest satisfaction. We had stayed here as part of our honeymoon and one day discovered a cockroach in our bathroom for which I was offered no compensation other than the money I spent on a coffee in the rooftop bar!
At breakfast, it is entirely self-service, not even coffee is brought to the table and is dispensed entirely from a machine, whilst upstairs in the rooftop bar they have the cheek to charge for coffee which is of much better quality but not on offer at breakfast. I would not rate this a 5 star hotel; probably a 3 or 4 star at a push.
